Came in for lunch the other day and was pretty happy with the steak burrito. I was surprised by how much I liked the rice that came with it.
Our server wasn't the most attentive but our food came out super quick so I can't fault them too much.
I really like the choices in glass and dishware. The booths were a little cramped but it otherwise was very classy.
The most important thing I need to say though is how ATROCIOUS the "art" is. It's all very clearly AI generated garbage. I know that's harsh but I only say this because it really brought down what was otherwise a really good vibe. It's really disappointing to see an otherwise beautiful restaurant made worse by cheap computer-generated drivel. Seriously, look closely at the flowers or the buildings in the background. The images are soulless and oppressive. If the owner reads this, please, I beg you... I know restaurant margins are thin but just pay a real artist to create some murals for you. If you can't afford that, get some art prints that weren't made by a computer. If you can't do that, just take the AI stuff down. A blank wall would be an improvement over what you have right now, I promise.
For most people the art rant won't matter. This place has good food and I'd love it if a restaurant could finally stick around in that space. But yeah, terrible...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Catrina Cocina Mexicana in Ocala, and I can’t say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm smiles and a vibrant, inviting atmosphere that truly captures the essence of Mexican culture.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh, and you could taste the care and passion that went into each preparation. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes; you won’t be disappointed!
The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service we received from the staff. The bartender was particularly outstanding – friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. They crafted delicious cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Read moreI went to dinner here 7/12/24 and I fear this place won’t be open long. We waited 10 minutes for a table which is 100% fine and anticipated, however it took close to 15-20 minutes to actually meet our waiter, Nestor. By the time Nestor arrived to take our drink order and greet us, we knew what we wanted but Nestor sped off and we didn’t see him for another 5-10 minutes. We then ordered some sangria and the street corn appetizer and our entrees (enchilada plate, tour of Mexico, rio grande and San Jose). I can’t eat corn because of my IBD but it looked good and the two people that ate it said it was good, however it was 7$ (1.25$ extra to have it off the cob) and it is a pretty small amount. The food took some time to come out which is fine BUT it was bland and just not good man. Anything that had chicken in it was in like huge tasteless chunks. The rice had corn in it which was not stated on the menu, I can’t eat corn so I couldn’t eat it. The couple we were with also had green beans in their burritos?? Overall a very disappointing dinner. Latino y mas is the same price point and is leagues better, el toreo is fairly cheaper and is...
