Denny's — Restaurant in Ocala

My friend and I came in to try to enjoy some real food and haven't been to a DENNYS in a while, so we decided to stop by. Now, we both have worked in the food industry and customer service before, so we understand the industry. When we got to the table the waitress (who was the only waitress there) was going to sit us at whqt would have had people on both sides of us,so my friend asked if we could have another Table with alittle more privacy.... I know attitude and the waitress had a bad attitude with his request... she was upset cause there was a table that had dirty dishes still on it and she didn't want to have us sit near dirty dishes... honestly, we didn't give a damn...lol... and told her we didn't mind. So we ordered, and waited... and we didn't order a whole lot. He ordered a couple pancakes, egg and couple slices of bacon... I ordered a chicken sandwich with some fries... then a group sat behind us. They ordered... their appetizer came out a few min later... we were like ok.... then waited some more... and waited.... and waited.... then the table behind us got their food.... 4 (I believe) plates of pancakes!!!!! We were like WTF!!! it's already been about 45 min to a hr and we still haven't been served!!! So we were like, gonna leave. As we got up, we asked the waitress how much longer? She responded "let me ask" .... she hollers to the "short order cooks" "we got people walking out" and then inquired how much longer on our food.... and tells us it's ready now... how convenient.... we just told her then we will just take it to go... and she kind of had a attitude about that. As well as the cook... so we paid FULL PRICE for our food. We don't live to far, and we got home, my chicken sandwich was still alittle warm, but his plate was cold... so yeah, the party that was trying to come in as we were leaving decided to leave as well as they seen the service was not that great. Sorry, we will never come there again... and tell everyone we know that the service sucks and slow as hell... sorry DENNYS!!!...

Stopped in for something hot while traveling..arrived around 10pm .. maybe the day crew would be better but the night staff was .. "Horrible " if I thought you could ruin bacon,hashbrowns and pancakes I would never had stopped.. I had hoped ordering something so easy to cook would make this a good experience... Wrong.. upon entering I went to use the restroom.. it was nasty.. dirty clogged toilets, no toilet paper and looked like it had never been cleaned before.. that should had been enough to make me realize this would be bad place to dine. But I was exhausted so stayed hoping the best.. 1st off... how do you ruin pancakes?? I've never eaten such dry tasteless pancakes.. the bacon was inedible.. burnt and so hard it couldn't be chewed.. the hash browns were half cooked ..they looked good until you ate them and they were cold and obviously not cooked thru.. the scrambled eggs were the only thing I could eat. They didn't taste good but were edible. the coffee also wasn't bad.. at least our waitress was friendly and I don't blame her for the disgusting food..she at least was prompt with our coffee and taking our order...also the food took way longer than it should had. We waited almost 45 minutes. while we waited for the food the " cook " came out of the kitchen and was more interested in talking to friend's? or whoever they were ..if he had given as much attention to cooking as he did his friends??? this review could be different.. this place is outdated, dirty, torn seats at the booths and just not a comfortable or welcoming place... I would avoid it if possible and try a different...

This Denny's has gotten horrible. It used to be really nice to go to. We went today which is Sunday March 23rd in which they completely understand staffed. They had 2 people running the place. I say 2 people because there was a guy acting as the host and a waiter for more than 6 tables. He was trying his best. The other waitress was in the back where the cook is on her phone. Didn't even look up when we walked in. The guy was working his butt off trying to seat people and wait on people. He needs to be manager. No manager in sight and people started walking out left and right. Then lo and behold the other waitress comes from the back and goes to a table that just came in. While completely ignoring the other 2 tables that were here waiting for almost a half hour. After waiting to get service for 30 minutes we decided to leave. We used to be regulars here and come 2 times a week but now we are reconsider being regulars elsewhere. They were so short staffed it wasn't funny and no manager in sight to help with anything. The cook and the other guy seemed overwhelmed. While the other waitress could care less on her phone not even trying to help. Smh....plus the price hikes on everything are outrageous. It might not have mattered if the environment and the place would have had staff but they had neither. This place is not going to make it in my opinion unless they make some serious changes. Plus there was a bad smell in there almost like a mildew smell. We will not be returning. It sucks because we used to love this place now we have to find another regular spot to...
