I have been to the district bar on five different occasions. The first three times were great. I usually get the district burger with the truffle fries, the Reuben eggrolls. My last two visits were not that great! My daughter had planned a surprise birthday for me and picked this restaurant as the venue. It was only a few of us for a birthday dinner of about six people. The drinks were good. The server was really nice but the wait time for the food and it wasn’t even a lot of people there Was extremely long. That was my only complaint that time A couple weeks ago we went for young lady’s birthday Dinner and this is where everything went wrong. Our server really seemed like he didn’t want to be there. We barely saw our server at our table. The food took about an hour to come out and when the food did come out, it was cold. Some people didn’t want to send the food back. They just said I’ll warm it up later. One of the guest had took a bite of her pizza and told him that it was cold they took that same pizza with the bitten piece, put it in the oven to be warmed up again and brought it back out to her with that same bite mark but with fresh vegetables on top. We said something and she ended up getting a replacement pizza when it was time to cut the cake and then leave. My table, we had three district burgers that was cold and the fries were cold so they then just bought out one big plate of fries to where we had to split it amongst ourselves and redid the burgers. There was wings that was given to the wrong person, and the lady that was eating what she thought was her wings was told those were not hers. The server then took the wings and proceeded to give it to the other person at the other table. This person be trying to give the wings to was not related to the lady or didn’t even know the lady. After this lady ate some of the wings off the plate bringing food from someone else’s table after they ate from it should never be an option. Taking food back to the kitchen after customers touch it or eat it should never go back and you’re cooking areas. The manager did come out and had our orders remade. She was very nice about it. I hate that that experience happened for the young lady’s birthday Dinner because this restaurant is actually a really nice restaurant and if the food is hot, the food is actually good. It was really unfortunate that the service this day...
Read moreHard pass. From the time we ( party of four) walked in, till the time we left I truly regretted my drive from Gainesville to this VERY forgettable restaurant……. The design of the building is beautiful and truly up to date. The service is not what you expect at all. It is well below standards. We walked in…….it will be about a 20 to 30 min wait. Ok cool. 30 minutes later……. It will be about another 25 to 35 minutes due to the kitchen being behind. We finally get seats at the bar. The bartender who mind you was busy ( throws the menu’s in front of us and walks away stating that he will be back and to take a look at the menu’s. Cool. Comes back with a very sassy/ rude attitude and that pretty much set the mood for the night. We then are called for a table and get to the roof top where our waiter rushes us by asking if that’s all continuously while we order then takes an absolute age to bring us the drinks. Mind you no water was offered or brought to us as is standard restaurant offerings. Once we order and receive the food while was in fact good timing, the signature part of my dish was not on my dish and was only noticed after I asked the waitress who stated “O yeah it looks like they didn’t put it on your plate” 🍽️. This is not a high end restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. I have had better service at Applebees. I most definitely will respond to anybody who asks me in Gainesville if it is worth the drive with a resounding “Nope”. It really is a shame as the building is...
Read moreAfter leaving my honest 2-star review, the owner decided to respond by attacking me personally, claiming I “have a long list of negative reviews toward restaurants.” That is just simply false I don’t. I state facts, good or bad. I also have left positive and negative reviews on other types of businesses. So, Instead of addressing the criticism like a professional, THE OWNER chose to deflect and attack. Word of advice: If you can’t handle even mild criticism without attacking your customer back, that says everything people need to know about you and your business, I can only imagine how horrible your staff is treated. Changing to One star for you poor attitude and response.
Overpriced food with over-the-top concoctions that make no sense. No small plates at all, ridiculous appetizers, usually almost always out of a lot of food or ingredients to make the plates they advertise and “salads” should not be the only vegetarian option if i did not want to eat meat that night. This place acts like it’s food is Michelin star while serving up two star service, three star attitude, and top tier pricing for mediocre food at best. Seating inside is scarce downstairs, upstairs is okay, but also meh and premade crafted drinks are just a lazy approach. After giving this place three chances i am still not impressed. To make it worse, the owner’s combative responses to any criticism shows zero accountability and nothing but excuses instead of actually listening to...
