Food was delicious. Just be prepared for terrible service. Three of us sat at the bar. After sitting a bit (not sure exactly how long) someone asked if we'd been helped, and said they'd go find the bar tender. Sat a bit more then someone said let me get the bar tender. Some time later the bar tender came to provide service. Great friendly attitude. We were served quickly, food came fast, and it was very good. As we ate there were some friendly waiters rolling silverware next to us that got us some sauce. We finished eating and never saw the friendly bar tender again. We asked a lady that was rolling silverware for a check. She said let me let him know. We waited. Bar tender never showed. Someone else asked if we needed anything. We told her yes we would like to pay and leave. She said "I thought so, let me get someone" no one showed. Again we asked a friendly waitress for help. She then told a man that we needed a check. He said ok. He then came back and told us a total. I gave him my card, my wife asked if we got a check. He replied oh you want a ticket let me go get one....... No one showed. So I started to think what kind of mickey mouse outfit is this. So I walked in the direction the man with my card went. Found him and the missing bar tender at the outside bar. He explained to me that the printer was jammed. I said just forget the paper, give me my card and I'll pay with cash. He didn't hand me my card. I then told him to just give me my fing card and I'd just pay with cash. He through his hands up, one hand holding my card, began to dance around saying "don't cuss at me, you're disrespecting me." etc. I told him that I was the one being disrespected for paying for a service that I didn't receive. The friendly bar tender guy told him that "he would handle it just to go". All I wanted to do was pay and leave. So the bar tender handed over my card. I asked him "what kind of mickey mouse clusterf is this place? He then said now your cussing at me. I then told him "I'm not cussing at you I'm just asking about the place using cuss words. I then looked up on my phone to see if I was charged. I saw the charge and said "I've been charged on my card, I'm leaving. He said "I'm trying to void the charge" I said no thanks that's all I've been trying to do is...
Read moreI recently revisited Glory Bound Gyro Co. in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, hoping to relive the fantastic dining experience I had a few years ago. Sadly, my recent visit left me feeling mildly disappointed. While the location remains excellent and the service provided by waitress Jackie was commendable, the food and menu options fell short of my expectations.
Let's start with the food. While it was by no means terrible, it was merely average. The flavors lacked the same wow factor I remembered from my previous visit. The once outstanding dishes seemed to have lost their luster. It's disheartening when a place you once loved fails to deliver the same level of quality.
One particular issue I encountered was with the fries. They were served lukewarm, which was a letdown. Warm, crispy fries are an essential component of any enjoyable meal, and this oversight diminished my overall experience.
Furthermore, I noticed that the menu had undergone changes since my last visit. While variety is typically appreciated, I was disappointed to find that all the lamb dishes were now mixed with beef. This change posed a problem for individuals like myself who have religious dietary restrictions against consuming beef. It's a shame that the restaurant did not consider maintaining standalone lamb or goat options like most gyro places do.
Despite these setbacks, I must acknowledge the positive aspects of my visit. The restaurant still boasts a pleasant atmosphere, and the location remains superb. Additionally, our server Jackie provided attentive service without being intrusive, which was appreciated.
However, considering the decline in food quality and the limited menu options for those with dietary restrictions, I will likely explore other dining options on my next visit to Ocean Springs. While Glory Bound Gyro Co. is still a decent place to dine, it no longer lives up to the exceptional experience I...
Read moreHonestly, I was really excited to try out this gyro place with my gf but Carli (our waitress) was disappointing & ruined the experience. We did not receive a greeting when we got there. Instead, we were asked if we want to sit inside or outside. We said inside at first but changed our minds to go outside & we apologized for the switch up, to which we received an eye roll and then she sat us down. Once we sat down, I had ordered a beer. But that didn’t come out for 10 minutes while I’m watching other people get their drinks. So I had told her to cancel it and not bring it to the table when she came back to us (because she said it wasn’t ready yet and she hadn’t forgotten about it). She said that she gets it. I walk away to get ketchup & not even 30 seconds later, I come back to see she brought a warm beer out and said they had already made it. Confused because I had said not to bring it and was still charged for it. When we brought it up, she became defensive and argumentative telling me that she had already rung it up & alcohol beer sales are final. She said that she’ll talk to the manager and that’s not up to her & she just walked away while I was talking to her. I understand that policy and I’m not saying that was the issue. Carli just did not seem as attentive as the other workers and did not listen to what I had to say. My gf and I felt very uncomfortable from the get go. The experience was rushed and it was very obvious she seemed like she did not want to be there. The manager did come to talk to us. She was pleasant and very much understanding, completely different from Carli. The manager came up to us as if there was a really big issue between us and the waitress. I dont really understand what she might’ve said to the manager. But I’m glad the manager was making sure everything was okay. It was so uncomfortable that we paid in cash and left through the back way. It was...
