Iām not even sure where to start with this review but here it goesā¦
I went into Ryderās Jewelers on 7/8 with the hopes of selling my engagement ring. Itās custom and an absolutely beautiful ring but it was dirty and damaged. The Jeweler Dana (donāt even get me started on this absolute gem of a human being, see what I did there š) then very honestly, which I appreciated, tells me that they would only be able to buy it for the price of the gold which would be a waste because itās such a pretty ring. My face saddened because I know I needed quick money. Divorce is hard š¤·āāļø. I think Dana sensed in me that I had taken a few Lās here recently and before I could even say anything she said āBut what I can do, is make this thing look like brand new so when you go to sell it, you get top dollar!ā And boy did she!!!! She fixed a hairline fracture, tightened stones, cleaned it, reshaped my band and she did all of this out of the goodness of her own heart. During this entire interaction (I must have been in there 30-45 mins) Iām chatting with the two sales associate Jordyn and Melissa. Weāre talking jewelry, positive energy, doing acts of kindness for other⦠all the good feel good stuff! Several other female customers are walking in and joining in on our conversation too! When I tell you this store turned into a mix of the Spice World movie and a womenās empowerment seminar I MEAN IT! Think GIRL POWER times 100! There was so much genuine kindness in that room! We laughed, we looked at rings and for a moment I forgot about all the stress Iām dealing with. I know this is a long post but I really need the owners of this shop to know what an AMAZING staff they have! There is NO doubt in my mind that they already know this, but it hits different when it comes from a customer! Dana, Jordyn and Melissa completely turned my day around with such a small gesture of kindness and it is such a shining example to what a staple Ryderās is to Ocean Springs, Ms. I also wanted to add that Iām pretty sure Dana is some kind of āmystical mineral witchā because that ring did NOT look that good when it was first given to me! I donāt know if something can look better than brand new, but it did!
Thanks again for the laughs, kindness and advice. You ladies are not just as asset to Ryders but woman kind in general. I smiled the entire rest of the day and told everyone I saw after that about it. Donāt be surprised if I pop in just to get some good feels...
Read moreBetter communication and a touch of customer service/friendliness would go a long way. I brought a piece of jewelry to Ryder that had been in my family for 4 generations⦠I expressed I was excited to be there because I recently got married and my husband purchased my engagement and wedding band from them. I received a blank stare in return.
I proceeded to list three issues with the piece I brought in. They accepted the ring and my money without much conversation. Instead of reaching out to me when the ring was ready the contacted the alternate contact I listed on the pick up form. She had to call me and advise the ring was ready. I gave the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to her having a local numberā¦
When I went to pick up the ring I noticed the primary issue I raised when I brought in the ring was not resolved. When I questioned it I was told the ring was made that way and nothing could be done. Even if that was the case (which I refute) it would have been helpful to hear that when dropping it off. Additional conversation went no where⦠more blank stares.
I was hoping to form a relationship with a local jeweler. It definitely wonāt be this one⦠I left unhappy with the repair and the lackluster communication and generally unfriendly attitude that went along with it. I still plan to develop a relationship locally, but it definitely wonāt be with these folks. It seems like other people get great service⦠that certainly was not offered to me. Iām disappointed and left...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove Ryder Jewelers! Stopped by randomly one weekend while visiting Ocean Springs and they had a massive sale going. Ended up buying my wife two rings basically for the price of one. Months later one of the gems fell out and we thought we were going to have to pay to replace it. When we show up, the owner tells us he will replace it free of charge (ended up not being able to get a replacement to the stone so just got us a brand new ring!). While we were there we asked about getting two of her rings tacked together and they did it for half the price of the jewelry stores in the mall. We have a baby coming so Iāll be back there soon for the push present lol. Thanks for the rings and the service and the great atmosphere....
