Antonio's Gourmet Salumeria — Restaurant in Ocean Township

Really nice salumeria. They have a great selection of dried and fresh/frozen pastas. A few different types of jarred sauce, all very good quality. I was absolutely amazed at the fresh prepared food case and all of the different options. The produce is top-notch. Everything looks absolutely delicious! I personally purchased some very high quality dried pasta and some of their homemade marinara and the produce to make a big salad. It was all outstanding. I had a couple of questions which were quickly and thoroughly answered. The staff is very very friendly. I have already told quite a few people about this place. We were greeted at the door by a young man who politely asked if my friend and I could wait outside until two people came out. This was due to store capacity during Covid. As soon as he opened the door to let a couple of customers out, the wonderful smell of bread filled the air. As we placed our order, we were told that they were sold out of a few things that we wanted because of the holiday season. We absolutely understood and continued with the remainder of the order. I really wanted to give them another half star, but was not able to. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was because in the back area, it was very smoky due to cooking in the back, I imagine, which made it hard to shop in the rear...

The gentlemen that helped me all were gracious, welcoming and helpful. BUT the sandwhich!!! It was gorgeous and just what a NJ Italian sub should be. In every way. The delicious Semolina bread, the provolone was sharp and prevalent,the Boar's Head meats were heaped high. "Twas The BEST Italian sub I have had in a decade. I had the spicy #2. EVERY ingredient was delicious. And the beautifully displayed fresh salads and pastas, plus a selection of marinated meats. You are spoiled for choices in this clean and fantastic Italian Deli.
