I went for my first float the other day and had a great time. I've always been sort of aware of these places but never had the push to go in despite a cursory interest in them. Finally when I saw the sale for 2 floats back in December I bit the bullet and bought them but let them sorta hang back forgotten. I wish I used one sooner!
It was really cool. The tank is plenty big to stretch out in. All the facilities were nice and clean and all the shower accoutments you could want. They offer some nice ear plugs but if you're prone to ear infections silicone ear plugs which makes a seal around you're ear (and prevents a single drop from getting through) will allow you to partake in this awesome experience.
The whole thing felt over in a fraction of the time. At first my shoulder and neck were killing me sore and I thought I was doing something wrong. Finally I calmed down and realized how can you float wrong and it was just pain and tension releasing from where I carry it the most. Didn't take long to pass and the total silence and darkness is punctuated by your breathing. Super peaceful and very very relaxing. I'm excited to go back.
The oxygen bar at the end was a fun little treat I haven't seen one of them in ages. The guy running everything Scott was super helpful and nice and makes sure you have a great float. He's also got a lovebug dog that'll gladly be your friend while you watch the intro video or say hi when you're done. Whole place has a great vibe to it you really won't regret...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to True rest spa in Ocean for my birthday for the first time and it was the most amazing experience we ever had. Scott took the time to explain to my boyfriend and I how it worked and was kind enough to show us around. He was very thorough in his explanation. Before we started he made sure we had everything we needed and if we needed anything else, he told us to give him a call on the walkie talkies. When I went in I didn't know what to expect, as I laid there and relaxed, I went through all the great things, and bad thing I experienced in my life and I then went on an emotional journey. I was sad, happy, angry, and depressed all at once. After that I relaxed and felt as if I was floating into space. At a certain point I didn't even feel my body. When I came out I felt confused , dizzy and I didn't even know where I was. I was so relaxed and I felt happy. It helped me so much on my joints as well. When I walked in I was hoping in because I had hurt my foot, but after I floated and got out my foot has been feeling so much better that I am actually walking instead of hoping. The experience was amazing and so worth it that we got a membership for 1 float a month. Can't wait to...
