Big Bob's Best Pizza — Restaurant in Oceanside

Bobs USED to be our go to ... this is the 3rd bad meal and last time we order. Quality has gone down drastically and no longer has value! So very sad!

Pizza delivered with completely char BURNT (as in BLACK without exaggeration), completely cold (not even warm) and it was almost as if the toppings were just thrown on the pie as toppings and cheese was only on about 3/4 of the pie. We had to move what little toppings were on it (mushrooms must be cut with a razor blade, because you couldn't even taste them and barely visible in a scant few spots).

The cheese that was sparsely drizzled over the top had ABSOLUTELY NO stringiness and tasted like they used Walmart extra value oil based imitation cheese. Definitely not the quality that Bob's business was built on.

To add injury to insult, our pie was just a tad under the delivery, so the girl told us to add a side of salad dressing to make the delivery. I don't know how much a side of salad dressing is, but it can't be more than a dollar, since the sides are not more than about a tablespoon and a half ... one would think. She put us on hold and said her boss said they couldn't deliver without it ... WTH?? Great way to handle your customer base!!!

Very disappointing and sad that we are forced to look for a new pizza shop, but after 3 misses ... it is time.

Hot patootie bless my soul, Big Bob’s Best Pizza really lived up to all the great reviews. Easy to order, interior is nice and clean, quiet atmosphere, and four sizes of pizza to select from. Mom and I shared a medium pizza of eight slices with plenty left to take home after we enjoy Dwight Yoakum and The Mavericks at Frontwave Arena just 0.4 miles around the block. If you’re going to an event at Frontwave and don’t want to pay the high prices on the inside, stop by Big Bob’s and grab a slice or a whole pie. There are some combination deals up until 4:00 pm if you’re dining alone.

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the round metal table just outside the door. There are four chairs, one of which I moved aside for mom’s wheelchair. It was clean and inviting. The sun was behind the building at this hour so we had the shade on a warm day and were enjoying the comfort and ambiance of the place. We relaxed until it was time to head over to Frontwave Arena, where parking lot opens at 5:00 and doors open at 6:00 for the 7:00 show. Big Bob’s offered us a place to enjoy each other’s company as we tried to keep a handle on our excitement for the show. A perfect blend of great food, excellent customer service, relaxation instead of rushing around, and leaving Bob’s with it in mind to do this again. Trust me, if nothing else, come...

Sheri was a darling on the phone, answering questions with not a sign of impatience, truly an angel 😇 of the airwaves. I like nice service, and in this instance I received it in droves. We were in Oceanside for the night, and after a dismal visit to a fancy Peruvian restaurant in Carlsbad (second, and last) for lunch, we took the Pizza night route, delivered to our hotel room. We chose Big Bob’s Best Pizza due to the overwhelming number of positive reviews. Sheri answered and the rest is now history. Food: The Works Pizza, substituting Green Bell Peppers with Linguica, a variety of sausage, with Sheri’s kind approval. The large was $27+? Good pizza served generously, showing why the high ratings were valid. 4.5 Stars. 2 Calzones at around $10+ each. One with Artichokes and Mushrooms 🍄. The next with Artichokes and Olives. Both were a Big Hit, besides their size, which for a small were quite impressive. My two lady companions agreed like one to how good they tasted. 4.5 Stars. This place showed its true colors, and made us very happy in the process. Final Bill was around $51+ a nice gratuity for the very personable delivery driver. No more pizza, please, a break is in order, but if we wanted more we would love to order from this place. Sheri, a true darling. Cook or cooks, talented...
