A convenient Taco fast food joint located right off the highway. Counter service or drive-thru ordering.
Found this spot through Google when searching local taco spots. The food is decent with many Mexican dish options. The Famous Fish tacos are pretty good and I recommend over the carne asada. The chips that come with a fiesta meal (chips and salsa added) are okay but they don't look or taste like fresh. Rather, they look and taste like store-bought. The rice and beans that came with a meal were tasty. However the portion sizes of the rice and beans could be increased. The fresh mild salsa is really good. The bean and cheese burrito was good.
There are plenty of places to sit down. Some with really nice window views looking at the small airplanes take off from the runaway across the street. It can be a bit noisy inside the dining area with a TV and different music going on.
Customer service was really friendly. Sergio welcomed us with a smile.
The location is somewhat shared with a gas station so it's convenient if you need to fill-up. The restroom could use...
Read moreI ordered a fish taco and a grilled chicken taco. Both were alright; I've had better of both.
The grilled chicken taco came with a huge chunk of soggy green pepper laid inside the tortilla; I understand the significance and authenticity of this ingredient, but it makes for a very impractical taco to eat.
The fish taco had battered cod. The batter was thin, had a saltiness but no flavor, and there was way too much crema on the taco. Overall about the same experience as the chicken taco. I didn't think to myself that this was one of the best tacos I'd ever had. Nowhere close. Instead of a couple of decent sized chunks, there was one whole huge piece of fish. Again, impractical, and you'd do a better job on the batter if the pieces were cut to 1/3 of that size.
Their tacos are big, worth the $3.50 (a little more but I can't remember, and I would never say they charge more than they actually do).
It's worth a shot to come here to see if you like it, you never know; this might fit your palate. For me, I'd rather have a deep-fried shell with my tacos, especially...
Read moreDo NOT get their potato tacos unless you really like soggy, Costco hash brown patties, drowning in some mystery white cream sauce, topped with some wet lettuce and cabbage and then wrapped in a wet soft tortilla. Makes for great playdough and putty after only minutes of holding but it is NOT great food, easy to hold or tasty. If you can hold one of these waterlogged monsters and not have a torrential flood leaking all over you and making a mess then you are Moses. Welcome Back. On the other hand, if you care what you look like after dinner skip the potato tacos and waterworks. That said, my family members all got the carne asada tacos and carne asada street tacos and they ate them and said the carne asada was NOT tough, chewy, fatty or greasy. They said it was actually pretty good. So, get the cane asada something and hopefully one day they will learn to make better potato tacos. The drink was large and NOT at all flat. 3 stars is the max I can do but if you are starving and have a choice between this place or eating your finger, get the carne asada....
