FrutaMix — Restaurant in Ocoee

We were recommended to this small family-owned shop by the gal that does my physical therapy. They have a few food items like tacos, tostada's, tortas, etc. They also specialize in fruit and ice cream mixes. It's in the name. We ordered the tacos and they were pretty typical of any taco that you will get in the street style. They were chicken and came with cilantro and onion. They were served with a wedge of lime and tasted just right. The reason this review earns 4 stars is the two fruit drinks that we ordered based on what we had seen online. The one with the bananas and kiwis is called a Cholado. It had bananas, kiwi, mango, and coconut, along with some cream and sweetened condensed milk. It was incredible! The other one was called a Bionico tropical and had mango, apples, strawberries, granola, crushed ice, cream and sweetened milk as well as some shredded coconut. I honestly could not say which one I liked more. They are the reason we will be back. There are approximately eight tables in the seating area. I did not have a chance to look at the bathrooms to check for cleanliness. The staff was very polite and offered suggestions based on what we were looking for. The last item I ordered was elotes. They allow you to season them as you like. That allowed me to go a little heavy on the seasoning for myself, and a little lighter for my wife. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. I've tried Birria soo many places but nowhere compares to this place. The absolute best. Food is a 5/5 but Service is horrendous. I've been eating here for almost a year now and had the worst experience yesterday. First, they never answer the phone. The one time that I've ever reached someone, I was put on hold for over 5 minutes and just hung up but thats another story. Yesterday I called 6 times within 30 minutes to make an order and nothing. I don't like ordering on the website because they charge a fee, so I drove out there. When I got there, line reached the door, spent about 30 minutes (if not more) in line because they only have ONE cash register which is crazy. After finally making my order, I waited another 30+ minutes and still no food. After finally going back in line to see what was going on, they had my order just sitting there on the back counter alone (away from the rest)... never called my name not once (I stayed inside the whole time). Walked in the store at 3:39, walked out at 4:42. Just ridiculous. Worst part about waiting was no AC or fans inside so it was very hot especially with the masks. We have been coming here since you opened. Love your food. I do not know what is going on with management though, and you guys are making it difficult to keep coming.

You are not on uber eats, or anything similar which makes take out painful. 40 mins is usual time to wait on food from time you place an order.

Patio is sometimes open and sometimes not.Do not understand this at all.

Food prices have gone way up while your competition has increased but not nearly as much as yours. You cannot order 2 tacos and rice and beans for less than $16. You have 2 mexican restaurants nearby with superior service and cheaper prices. You need to reconsider your audience. This is Winter Garden not Windermere and you have families that like to come here.

This brings me to my last comment. You got rid of the kids coloring menu and crayons?? This is a basic and a need to keep the kids happy and quiet for the sake of the other customers there.

Please do not respond to this post if you are management except to literally fix these issues. The locals are upset with you and I am sure your business is suffering. Taco Tuesdays are not...
