Visited two times, shocked with the price of a dozen donuts at $33. While they were a nice huge donut I felt it lacking for folks who would want to take a dozen back to the office to share. These donuts look fluffy and my family was able to share two, the cinnamon with strawberry icing had all run off by the time I got home, the munchkins were ok and the blueberry needs to have a funeral or retired, obviously they didnât use Tom West blueberries for those. The donuts are stored on racks and the staff were not wearing masks their choice however I would have liked to see staff washing their hands between customers or at least put gloves on after running the register then helping the next guest. Hairnets while working around the racks. The second visit was on a Sunday and there was a small line of customers. We got the Apple fritter and itâs still sitting on my counter 2 days later the edge was super crispy you had to dig dip for the fluffy part then really why was it so big it was more like an oversized croissant with icing. I think the owner needs a trip to Apple Country to visit the little old lady at the fair in Hendersonville NC to learn the art of Apple Fritters. Itâs not the size that matters. If you are looking for a weekday one hit wonder this is your place. Should you want use your dollar wisely with no waste then get a dozen of donuts or munchkins drive across fifty, or take the old highway fifty to clermont for the King. I do wish the owners the best, I wonder if they would forge an alliance with DF Bakery to bring their edible treats of deliciousness, breads, rolls, croissants and chicken pot pies. Then I promise you I would be there everyday and change my two stars to a top five. Oh they would need to have a chart at the hand washing station though, and have front and back staff to not cross contaminate the products.
Edited to add response to owner. I appreciate your report we however I did witness one person washing their hands between customers or after running the register tapping on it then went immediately back to stack my four donut holes. I truly think you should send in a secret shopper to test how how often your employees actually...
Read moreDG DOUGHNUTS was an amazing surprise! We were initially lured in by the raving reviews and photos, and though admittedly quite skeptical of the location, am glad we took the gamble. Our first visit we showed up late afternoon and the place was wiped out of pretty much everything save for a few flavors. Though disappointing this was also a great sign to us, as most bakeries (or even Dunkin Donuts) are still loaded with their donuts well into the evening. And as for the leftovers? They looked phenomenal! One of the remaining kinds left was the Tiramisu Doughnut, which I picked for myself. What an ironic flavor to have left too, as tiramisu is one of my favorite deserts; having spent many years in Brooklyn where some of the best baked goods are found, Iâm a cruel judge to the art, but when I say I was blown away by their version, I was blown away. They brought this traditional recipe to life in their doughnut. Fresh, not too sweet, and classily made, this is definitely a treat for all ages, but special to us adults who are looking to embrace traditional sweets in a new way. Impressed, we were willing to return and this time took their advice on placing an order in advance. Iâm so glad we did, and with someone as sweet as Sarah was to us. But she also warned us of what we were ordering (the Apple Fritter). We didnât fully believe her until we picked them up. It was incredible. We had doughnuts for two days, this is not a joke! They were enormous, brilliantly made, scrumptious, reasonably priced, and definitely something to show off to folks who gaped at the deliciousness of the treats. If you have a big family youâre wanting to spoil for a day, go here. We have traveled all over the country trying the best and worst foods this country has to offer, I am shocked to say we very well may have found the best doughnuts out here in the most unassuming place. Not to mention the amazing, honest, and polite employeesâ a true rarity in todayâs timesâ who leave you pleased in giving business to and praying to continue doing so for many years to come. Give this place a chance, the experience is...
