I decided to surprise my husband with a special dinner for our 28th wedding anniversary. We were married near this particular location so I thought it would be a nice surprise to return to the area for dinner. I made 6:30 pm reservations and called ahead to make the staff aware of the special day. She told me they would prepare a special table for us and have a special dessert prepared. It took over 30 minutes beyond our reservation time to get seated at which point we were seated at a table for two right outside the kitchen. The hostess dropped some rose petals on the table when she seated us (which I found out later is their practice upon request for special occasions however, when I called she told me the table would be set with rose petals so it seemed as though they were an after thought). It was a horrible location - the wait staff was literally running back and forth past our table all night long and staging dirty dishes right behind me. The meal tasted fine but given the prices, I was underwhelmed. We eat out frequently and this was not the meal I expected. The final disappointment came when the waiter brought out the dessert menus instead of the surprise dessert I was told would be served. I finally had to ask him to check the kitchen - ruining the surprise for my husband. To the waiter's credit, after conferring with the kitchen and then the hostess desk, he went back to the kitchen and brought us a very nice dessert with Happy Anniversary written on it in chocolate. Unfortunately, I was so upset at that point I really couldn't enjoy it. The manager appeared to notice me on my phone, completing this review - my husband said it looked as though he was reading over my shoulder. I had originally only marked 2 stars which I believe got his attention. He finally came to the table and asked if everything was alright. I shared my dissatisfaction over the events of the evening. He apologized for the evening and asked how he could make it up to us. I asked him "How do you fix a ruined event that only happens once?" This was our anniversary dinner and I chose Ruth Chris because from all the hype, it is supposed to be the pinnacle of dining and that was not the case. In the end, he returned to the our table apologized again and comp'd the entire meal which was a nice gesture but it didn't "fix" the spoiled evening. My parting thought - Don't...
Read moreI have been coming to this location for years for Thanksgiving and this was my first time ever getting treated badly. I understand the holidays can get crazy. I don't understand why 5 people are at the front desk and don't know what is going on and (RUDE). I I only had a party of two. My reservations was at 7:00 p.m., there was people coming in 40 minutes after and was getting seated. I don't know what time their reservation was. I asked the front desk can I sit at the bar to free up the tables for others. There was two bartenders and it was not that busy they didn't clean the bar off so people can sit down it was very DIRTY. I asked can I sit at a bar top and the young girl at the front desk said I have to be on a list. ( No one was sitting there). Finally around 7:50 another girl escorted us to the back outside of the restaurant. I really did not appreciate that I did not drive 50 minutes away to come sit outside in some dirty picnic tables. I called three times previously before I came and asked could we sit at the bar the lady said just let the front desk know. When we went to the tables all of them DIRTY!!!. So she took us back up front to wait again. Finally she sits down at a seat that we already walked past twice and the table and chair was DIRTY!!! When the waiter came over I told them I just want to order my food and go home. Now I have four people coming to my table trying to accommodate me when you should have tried to accommodate me when I first came through door. At this point I just wanted to go home. They bring our food out and the waiter proceeds to put the food in the bag on the floor. Why is the food on the floor? I grabbed my bag and went to my car to check to see was all the food in there. No it was not on the Thanksgiving special was included one side per meal. They put all turkey in the bag with no sides. I will NEVER come back to this location ever again. I have two Ruth Chris close to my house but I chose to drive to this one because every time I came here I always received EXCELLENT service except yesterday. And the restaurant was way busier in the past! No excuses for the money that we spend on this food. And treat people with respect you don't know what people could be going through when they walk...
Read moreMy partner and I visited this location on a Saturday. It didn't appear busy as there were empty tables nearby. The location is great. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is beautiful and is a reflection of the cost to dine here. Other patrons were well dressed and it felt like a top tier experience... until we sat down. The lady who greeted us at our table took our water order but never returned with it. It took a lot longer than anticipated for our waiter to greet us, he asked if they brought our waters and apologized. The appetizers, seared tuna and French onion soup, were delicious. The tilted pineapple martini was delicious. When they brought our entrees the "runner" dropped the food off for the waiter to serve but left the food sitting unattended on a tray in the middle of the main walkway about 5 feet from our table and other patrons were walking by within a foot of our food appearing to peak over it to see what the food was. A waitress informed another waiter (he was in our section but not our waiter, ours disappeared) of the tray of food and the food was delivered about after one minute of it sitting in the main walkway. Our waiter never checked on us until we were about finished with our entree, he disappeared for quite some time. My steak was good but my partner's was overcooked, the pasta in the lobster mac n cheese was overcooked and mushy, the Brussel sprouts were delicious but warm. Our waiter was energetic and friendly but appeared inexperienced in an upscale restaurant and interrupted my partner ordering dessert to inform us he prepared the Creme Brûlée the day prior. We received the quality of food and service we expect from Outback Steakhouse and not at an upscale establishment such as this. Huge kudos to the other waiter in our section, he was fantastic to his tables and should be recognized. We would return for cocktails and desserts at the bar but not for a full dining experience. I had a great experience at the...
