BJ's Drive-In — Restaurant in Odessa

I wanted to start off by saying, that I have been eating at BJ's for many, many years. So tonight was a huge disappointment to the food that I am normally used to receiving at this establishment. I am a mom of 3, which includes a 9 month old. I put in an order for 3 bacon cheese burgers, fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms and some chicken nuggets. Normally I would expect to wait around 20 minutes tops for my food.

When we pulled up, there was only 3 cars, including us. I waited nearly an hour this evening. My husband kept having to get out of the vehicle and wait by the ordering window, because none of the people would talk to him. Finally when someone does get to the window, we had already waited 40 minutes. The man says "We are just really slammed man." Now I am not sure if they had phone orders or what, but they should have told us, "It is going to be such n such amount of time for your order." We finally get our order and my husband goes through the bag and the man keeps reassuring him that everything is in the bag. My husband tells the man "I don't see the onion rings," the guy just keeps repeating "they're there, they're there." Which I am sure he just wants us to leave. So we take the food and head home, after waiting this long we have a fussy 9 month old, so of course we just all want to go home and eat.

When we get home, we all start going through the bag, and what do you know!? There is no onion rings, not only that but the burger patties themselves were something you would expect to see on a McDonald's dollar menu burger. There was only 1 tiny piece of bacon on each of our burgers. With that being said my family and I will more than likely never eat at this establishment ever again. The biggest burgers in all of Texas. I’m convinced.

This is one of those places that you wouldn’t ever believe existed, but it does and it’s been around for a LONG time.

I discovered this place on my very first visit out to El Paso from Dallas, I was starting to get hungry on the drive and I happened to get gas at a sketchy little gas station about 30ish minutes outside of town when I just happened to be all over Tinder.

I had matched with a girl at the time; and I was looking for some GOOD local food & a dope place to take some photos back in 2017 and this was the place I was recommended by that girl.

I spent a good 15 minutes trying to find it when I got in town and had accidentally found Watts, but I eventually found this place and let me tell you, this changed my entire mindset on burgers.

I pulled up and I was the only truck in the area so I was afraid I was too late, but I walked up and saw the iconic mural on the fenced in wall, and was like man this place must have some history to it.

I had ZERO expectations; I was thinking I was going to get some bunk little burger, but after waiting what felt like 5 minutes or so, my burger came out and holy smokes it was just as big as my wheels on the truck.

Hands down the best burger that I have had the privilege of eating in my life.

The next time I am in Texas, I will TRY my best to come here and try to devour one of these...

I worked for them and they were the absolute worst I am ocd when it comes to warring gloves the owner got mad and told me to stop changing my gloves I worked in restaurant business for over 15 years.and I was turned off when I finally went to the line to put the toppings and cut the burgers I couldn't wear gloves so I choose not to work on the line they are really unprofessional and they are rude to their customers I got in trouble for going around to the customers they were rude too and apologized to them that's not how you run a business at ALL...And they said they were gonna pay cash only for the first week then we would start getting issued checks bc I need my taxes taken out well after the week I questioned them and they got hysterical with me and said if I wanted to get paid by check go somewhere else I am about to get in trouble for them and I worker over 55 the first week and I never got paid the over time just pai for the hours I worked but in business place and by law they are doing wrong in every aspect of a fast food buisness and you can't give any suggestions about anything they will shut you down they made feel unappreciative and never gave any good feed bavk they made you ferl like you were expected to know everything right there and then so I would not ever recommend anyone to eat or work there that place is not the same since the original owner sold it feel very...
