Not what I expected as it looked empty in the parking lot around dinner time and was going to go else where but I saw people in there but I guess where from the hotel across the parking lot. I ordered the wrong thing which is the BBQ pork and I don't recommend it as you get little bit of rice and refried beans compared to the other orders, the tacos looks like what you get as appetizers at other restaurants, and my guts where killing me afterwards into the next day. Not like Mexican food I have found in other places of Illinois or in other counties. I think the wife wanted to go here for the colorful drinks as we passed a few better Mexican restaurants to get here. The pork was very dry old like pulled pork with the thinnest line of BBQ sauce on each one, this taco needs a lot of hot sauce or salsa. I don't like that they used flour instead of corn which has flavor and strength to not fall apart. I will advise to skip this or other tacos as they don't taste like those homemade tacos that most grandma, auntie, or mom would make so good that you want more. The other stuff might be better to order if you are hungry. Restroom was not very clean and smelled like air freshener and stale urine odors like in the city parking garage elevators. So we didn't stay to get another drink order or dessert as my gut and the experience were not...
Read moreWe had been told about Blue Margaritas from a friend that said they liked it so when my husband and I were in the area we decided to try it for ourselves and we were happy we did. There is plenty of free parking right outside the door and it had easy access to the highway. The restrooms were clean, roomy and easy access. The restaurant appeared to be clean, newly refurbished, and easy to navigate even if using a walker, cane or crutches. As soon as we were seated they brought out multicolored chips and salsa. I asked if they had a housemade hot salsa and they did not disappoint, they brought it out and it was fantastic. They have your standard Mexican fare and everything we ordered was brought out hot fresh and in a reasonable amout of time. The chicken fajita quesadilla was very good and really unique. Both meals came with refried beans, rice, sour cream and pico. The drink menu had plenty of choices, we tried the Paloma and it was outstanding,...
Read moreReally excellent Mexican food. This is a great addition to Oglesby and the location is fantastic for survivability. The restaurant is located just off Exit 54 on interstate 39 on the southeast side. There is a Best Western Hotel within walking distance of the restaurant which will help with steady business.
Their food is exceptional and well seasoned. The restaurant was fully remodeled and looks great. Everything is very clean and new inside. This is my new go-to Mexican restaurant in the Peru area. The only thing I'd change is the booths. They are fairly uncomfortable and the table slides around easily. The table legs are also fairly large underneath and it makes you feel trapped into a tiny space. I'd suggest getting a normal table if...
