Subway in general is one of my favorites however location does matter. This particular location at just after 11am on a Wednesday did not gain my business on my first time visit here. I needed to use the restroom before ordering and I'm glad I did because it showed the lack of current employee's concern for their customers. I am not usually one to give a negative review based on a single incident unless it's truly a concern that may help others be aware. I did not end up using the restroom here due to it's extremely poor condition left by some mannerless individual prior. I brought this to the two ladies attention and the response from the one lady was, so what's wrong with it? One might think that, "the men's room is in horrible condition", is justification enough that there's a cause to check it immediately. The lady making the food just said, "what can I get for you?" I would expect that anyone concerned with the preparation and making of food would have some type of concern for others however since there was no one else there, customer wise, I couldn't chalk it up with them just being busy and it got me thinking that the lack of concern or empathy may very well pass into the same with the food being served by these ladies. I chose to use the restroom across the way at McDonald's who had extremely clean premises and this is where I ate. Hopefully down the road, there may be some change at this location but it may be awhile before I choose to explore that...
Read moreI wouldn't make a big deal out of their expired dairy. Things happen. But I do not appreciate how this Subway's employees treated us when we told them we consumed their spoiled and expired dairy.
First, no apologies, then the cashier lady told me that I had to wait because she needed to call her manager for permission. That is, Permission to refund $3 for THEIR spoiled product! When I asked, "how come you need to call someone for this, didn't you just void out wrong sale a minute ago?" - her response was "well, yes, but... it's complicated". OK then. Next, she proceeds to call her manager right in front of me. The call went like this "so, this guy (referring to me) used expired dairy in his coffee, and now he wants his money back." -- I took that comment as disrespectful and borderline rude, but again - I didn't make a big deal.
Dear Ladies working at this franchise - this is NOT how you handle customer complaints. First, you apologize and save face. Next, you show some care towards the customer - after all, your customer just consumed your spoiled dairy. Using words like "oh no, I am so sorry, are you feeling OK" go a very long way compared to a blank indifferent stare you treated us with.
Then right away and without further fuss, you comp your customer and be done with it. Simple, right?
Lastly, you may want to revisit your FIFO and your daily checklists. It only takes one incident like this for a county health inspector to pay you an...
Read moreI would like to provide a POSITIVE Experience we had recently visiting the Subway location in Ogelsby, IL off of I-39. We understand the owners names is “farmer John” . We stopped at approximately 4:30 pm Sunday, August 17, 2025 to enjoy an early dinner while traveling north to Rockford, IL. We were greeted with pleasant and professional staff who were eager to serve our needs. Their names were Andrew and Mariska and they followed all customer service protocol to in retail to make this stop a tasty, high quality, and efficient experience. We purchased a tuna footlong meal deal and dined in the dining room. The sandwich prep area was clean and well stocked with fresh protein options and fixins. The bread was fresh and very satisfying. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked as well. All tables were clean and comfortable seating was available throughout the dining room. We THANK YOU for providing a fulfilling experience while on our travels. Keep up the good work. Hats off to the owner and management staff for outstanding hiring and training practices. Phil...
