My family and I chose to celebrate my birthday on April 15th at a new spot in Lima, drawn in by the mouthwatering food photos on their Facebook page. I decided to try the El Molcajete bowl, which ran about $20–$25. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the hype. The steak lacked seasoning and was riddled with fatty pieces, while the chicken was dry and tough to enjoy. The bowl was overwhelmingly filled with cheese, and the chorizo fell flat disappointing, especially considering the price. Even the $6 strawberry lemonade tasted like watered-down syrup, which was a shared letdown for both me and my mom. Service didn’t help the situation. Our server came across as disinterested and detached, adding to the underwhelming vibe. That said, the fried ice cream was a pleasant surprise crispy, creamy, and well-balanced. The atmosphere was also inviting and nicely set up, making the lackluster food and service all the more unfortunate. I had hoped for a more memorable experience, especially on a day that meant so much to my family and me.

I was a little annoyed at first bc it took a few minutes to get a server, but once we did, everything was Great! The food came out fast and very friendly service. I forgot to take a pic of fresh guacamole, but the flavor was excellent. My daughter got the vegetarian tacos and loved them. I got the Birria tacos and they were so good. The beans are amazing. The chips and salsa were yummy and the chips came out warm, which I love. We were too full to have dessert but the options looked wonderful and will definitely try to have some next time. Highly recommend this place, from a west coast Hispanic heritage girl

We went for dinner one evening and lunch for the following day. We ordered birria tacos, beef chimichangas, chicken enchiladas, peach margarita, pina colada, and sweeten ice tea. The food was very delicious! The waiter was very nice and attentive. Would love to go back, but it's 9 hrs away from home...lol. Whenever we decide to visit OH, we're definitely stopping by to fill our bellies. You will not be disappointed. Wish I would have gotten 2 orders of the beef chimichangas to go.

I frequently the Harding Hwy. location and have never experienced the issues I experienced on West St. today. This was my first time visiting the West St restaurants and I will never go back. I always order the barria tacos with flour tortillas and this has never been a problem before today. The menu actually states that tacos are available corn or flour tortillas. The waiter who was very nice informed me that the cook would not make the barria tacos with flour tortilla and that if I wanted flour then I'd have to order something else. Like a quesadilla. This caught me off guard because I always order the same thing at other El Cazador locations and like I said before this was never a problem. I pointed to the menu where it says you have the options for flour tortilla and after my waiter Giovanni went back and forth a couple times between myself and the kitchen trying to see if there was a way to make it happened with the flour tortillas we were unable to resolve the issue. At this point I decided to leave and go to the location that will make what I went in Harding Hwy. Giovanni apologized profusely and I empathized with him. It was not his fault. My boyfriend and I sat there trying to drink our drinks and eat the salsa, because we were charged $8 for our two sodas we had ordered prior to being informed we were not going to be able to get good. While we sat we asked to speak with a manager, who it turned out was in fact the cook that refused to make the food. His name was VICENTE. He came out with an attitude immediately. We were only hoping to gain some understanding as to why he refused to make something on the menu. He said that they get busy at times and they dont want to bother reading the tickets so if someone wants to change something he isnt doing it. I showed him that this was one of the options, I wasnt trying to alter the dish I just wanted it in one of the two ways offered. He said I could have any taco with flour tortilla except the one I wanted. That made no sense. Mind you they were not at all busy so the hypothetical situation he referred to made no sense. Vicente walked off like he didn't care to have our business anyway. I was not rude at all. I even paid forbthe over priced drinks I didnt really want without food because I didnt want the waiter to be stuck having to pay if I just walked out. Worst customer service EVER. I hope the owner has better customer skills and tries to make up for their employees because I loved this restaurants chain and dont like the bad taste I have been left with and hope to be a customer again someday but that's depends on how this situation is handled further up...

I would give zero stars if I could. I called in my order to go and the man who answered the phone hung up on me and when I called back to order he was super rude. But I still went ahead and ordered bc I was starving lol but when I came in to pick it up they all just walked right past me like I wasn’t even there. And when I asked the man for help he acted like I was out of line like uhm sir I just want my freakin food. MIND YOU THERE WERE LITERALLY ONLY 3 cars in parking lot like they were dead. There was no reason I should have gotten cold food. And when I asked for a small cup of shredded cheese they try to charge me three dollars for it. I’m flabbergasted at this point because like you already gave me a cold food and now you’re going to charge me for a small cup of shredded cheese. The one on Harding highway is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. Never...
