I wrote the words below, more than 3 years ago, now it is March 3, 2020 and I am in Kuwait again. Still, I have not found a better place than Garden Harvest and I would love to enjoy a sandwich from the deli and any beer Owen and Kurt suggest.
I'm 42, crossed the oceans a few times, eaten plenty of "new" foods and it is difficult to find something I have not already enjoyed. Garden Harvest has a unique selection of beers, sodas, snacks and deli items that I'm sure you will enjoy. If you are low on cash but want a fresh snack then grab a $1 Soft Pretzel made quickly while you wait. By the time you have read all of the labels on their unique drinks, it will be ready. I couldn't stop eating their Ghost Pepper dip with Kettle chips. Some of the wraps I love are jalapeno-cheddar, spinach and sun-dried tomato and it doesn't matter what you put inside the wrap, it is fresh and filling! I also liked the D-Bomb Ciabatta. I've tried a lot of items from their store and my newest lunch item today has caused me to write a review. When one of the employees at Garden Harvest convinced me to try a Caribbean Jerk Wrap I expected it to be similar to a beef jerky experience but it wasn't. This wrap had a flavor that I have not ever tasted before and it was amazing! I apologize for not being very specific about the ingredients but I ate it before I analyzed it. The meat is done perfectly with great seasoning, the greens are fresh and flavorful, the added condiments bring it all together and the bread/wraps are always soft and fresh. I go at least once a week and I now that my wife has tried it, we have it for dinner twice a month! The staff is always friendly and they work so quickly! As an additional surprise, they offered a sample of a grape today called Cotton Candy grape. It is a white grape that looks normal, but the moment I broke it open my brain was so confused due to the actual flavor of cotton candy! I love...
Read moreHands down best deli sandwiches I have ever had. I travel a bit for work and have had sandwiches all across the US and a few other countries. I like many styles of food. However this little shop has the BEST sandwiches, wraps, ciabattas, and other hand-held goodies I have ever had. I happen to be close to here for work so I have had the time to enjoy every sandwich they offer and have yet to be dissatisfied. I had one instance where my order was messed up (after 100's of orders this is quite permissible) they promptly offered to correct the issue, however I had full confidence that whatever it was that I had received would be great so I didn't bother making the change, and oh boy was I right. If you ever pop in and they have the meatball sub special going I highly suggest that. Then again I highly suggest almost everything. Important mention, they have amazing desserts as well as produce, soups (fall-spring), hard-to-find beer and wine, deli cheese, deli meat, and so much more. But allow me to back up a tad... Soups... They typically offer 2 different types of soup daily. I highly encourage you to take plenty of both, thank me later. Their soups are phenomenal as well and are made in house. Give this place a shot. If you like food you will not be disappointed. The only disappointment I have about this place is that there are not more of them. Is it bad that I enjoy this place so much that I am irritated by any review less...
Read moreThe girls behind the counter aren't very helpful...more like we were bothering them. Didn't offer much information on the food or seemed interested in helping us. The food is ok. I ordered a stack with pretzel bun. I opened it up and was disappointed to see it was a cold sandwich. May not have been their fault but I was expecting a hot sandwich. Not sure if they forgot but I didn't get a pretzel bun. It was most definitely a brioche. Unless if they make them both to look alike. I was too upset to even take more than two bites out of my meal. Ugh! Then I asked if they had a plate so we could split the dessert. Some older woman replied and also seemed as if I was a bother as well. Overall didn't seem like a friendly atmosphere. The only nice thing going for me while there was the young cashier. He was very positive and pleasant. I don't think I'll be going there again. It's just very unorthodox and ordering is unfriendly. Not a very helpful place. I don't drink but I think the locals like the beer choices here. It's all over the dining area. Ah well...on...
