Shocked to see that this restaurant is not more highly rated than it is. Little Hunan is a hidden gem that my husband has been frequenting for nearly 30 years and he’s been taking me there for over 18 years. It’s one of our local go-to restaurants. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s clean and the staff is super friendly. It feels like you’re coming over a good friend or family member’s place for dinner when you come here!
We have introduced many friends to this place and every time we hear the same thing “THIS is our new favorite Chinese restaurant!!”
To address a couple of the remarks I saw in a couple of other reviews: Yes, the ownership did change hands at one point. The current owner worked for, and was trained by, the original owner for years before he took over ownership.
The egg rolls are the best we’ve ever had - always fresh and crispy and just SO good!
I can’t speak for the entire menu because we are creatures of habit and always get the same thing “Sesame Chicken with Diaz rice” - you won’t find the “Diaz rice” on the menu, but ask for it and you’ll be pleased!!!
Some dishes our friends and family have gotten and were thrilled with are: General Tso’s, moo goo gai pan, egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable lo mein, chicken wings…ALL great!!
If you’re local and you haven’t tried this place yet - try it and see for yourself. If you’re just passing through - try it, but you might find yourself “passing through” more frequently just...
Read moreThe location resembles a dimly lit dive bar with a little sign. That should have been my first clue. The lady inside was nice enough, but seemed a little out of sorts. She was helpful though and I paid for my food and left. Everything smelled good, and that's where it went bad.
The general tso's chicken was very sweet and not at all spicy. Definitely not legitimate Chinese food. The beef and peppers had no flavor and was super slimy. The fried rice was burnt white rice with soy sauce in it, and was so dry it wasn't salvageable. Speaking of the fried rice my son asked if he bit into a pea, but there was no peas or any veggies in the fried rice, so what in god did he eat?
My fiancée told me her lo mein had a funky taste to it, and said it didn't taste like lo mein from any other Chinese place she's eaten at. The crab Rangoon was burnt at the top and tasted terrible.
For the cost this was a disappointing experiment in finding a new favorite Chinese restaurant. Any of the good reviews on here most either be employees or...
Read moreWORST experience EVER. The whole entire experience from placing the order to getting home to eat was horrible. When I placed the order I asked questions since it was my first experience here. I asked about the low mein and asked what all vegetables came in it and told her that I didn’t want any vegetables in my low mein no mushrooms or peas just broccoli and carrots . I ordered the pineapple chicken with that. I also ordered sweet & sour chicken. When placing the order I was told it would be 20-25min. I received my order 50mins from the time I called. Then I get home and since they put their sauce in the paper containers it ofc leaked. I thought that was the end of it until I open my pineapple chicken and it literally like a soup??? On top of that I would assume that since I didn’t want mushrooms in my low mein that it would’ve been mentioned to me that the actual entree contains mushrooms?!? Oh & not to mention my “low mein” is just plain...
