El Jalapeno II — Restaurant in Ohio

This used to be my all time favorite Mexican restaurant, and I referred many friends to this place. Now, I will never be back. The food and customer service is not the same. When I went to pick up my take out order. I stood there completely ignored as if I wasn't even there for a good 15mins. Even a door dasher that came in 10mins after me was acknowledged before I was. I finally said excuse me I had a take out order. I was told to continue to wait in a not so friendly manner. The man that brought out my order was friendly but the other staff could use some customer service lessons. When I got home first thing I noticed was the guacamole, which used to be my favorite was far from fresh. It was brown. The queso fundido that used to be packed with delicious chorizo barely had any in it and it did not taste the same. My husband's chicken con creama was not the same recipe. He noticed right away it wasn't the same. The chicken con crema was one of the best and didn't need changed. My Popeyes pollo was good atleast, except for the hair I found in it. With the change in some on my favorite dishes paired with feeling uncomfortable just standing there without a simple acknowledgment. My family and I will not be back. Total shame as we were...

Sat on the patio, been there before but we won't be going back. The waiter was too busy talking to his female coworkers in the alley outside to check on us most of the time. Ordered guacamole and he brought us a side cup of it that you would get for salad dressing. So we asked for the medium sized portion and it wasn't much bigger. We have ordered it before and it wasn't that small. I ordered a Mexican salad with chicken and asked for salsa instead of dressing. This waiter came back 3 times to ask what I wanted because he was confused. Actually asked me if I didn't want the lettuce, well why would I order a salad then??! Then I get my salad and it had said peppers, onions, shredded cheese and chicken. It came with 2 red onion slices and a bunch of raw green pepper rings. Barely and chicken in the salad, but tons of mini croutons which aren't even in the #35 description. Then the grossest part was that instead of shredded cheese they heavily topped it with Kraft grated Parmesan cheese which was disgusting. Previously I would have given this place 4 plus stars but my most recent experiences have been very different. Each time the service has been beyond terrible. My young child spilled some salsa on the table and rather than at least offer some napkins to clean it another bowl was set next to the pile of spilled salsa. The food prices have climbed, there is additional charges that show up on the bill and it is never detailed to see what they are for. The last straw for us was not two miles down the road my son got sick from the four shrimp he ate. That's all he ate was some shrimp. I ate the last one noticing it was a little different. I'm not sure if this place has changed ownership or has just gone downhill. We had two similar experiences prior to this one minus the illness, It's unfortunate because we frequented the restaurant in the past.
