The food here made my wife and daughter very sick. I came back in directly afterwards since I was still in the area, half an hour later, to report it, asked to speak to the manager. I was instead sent someone else who was not the manager. I explained the situation and then they went to get the real manager. That was the first red flag. I explained that my wife and daughter had eaten the same thing and both of them had gotten sick, they took my information and then after informing me that food poisoning takes 24 hours (which it doesn’t— at ALL) they informed me that they would report it to corporate and would call me if there is anything I should worry about. I literally just wasted time and fuel coming back to warn them that there was in fact actually something they should worry about and they didn’t take it seriously at all.
They didn’t offer to compensate us for the meals that caused the sickness, they didn’t incentivize my wife to come back here ever again whatsoever. This may be a one off, but people don’t tend to forget when a restaurant makes them sick. They don’t tend to want to go back there. I gave them an opportunity to change that so that we could spend hundreds of thousands more over the years at this restaurant, but they prioritize compensating one meal as more important.
My priority would be to make things right when a customer got sick immediately after eating my food. Especially if it was two customers that had separate plates and had the same thing happen. I would want them to come back. I would want to make amends. The manager here, said his name was Evan, and all he did was shake my hand and let me know they’d report something. That’s not making things right.

Read moreUsually when we come here it’s great. Today we tried to place and order for pick up on the app around 9:30 and it wasn’t working. I tried to call in to place the order to go, because i know people coming in to sit and eat the last hour of close can be stressful. They didn’t answer the phone so i had to go in anyway. Once i went in the hostess was an absolute nightmare. Telling me that the app didn’t work because they are “pretty much closed”. We got there at about 10:20 with 40 minutes left until they closed at 11. She then told us if we wanted to order to go we had to go around the side to the takeout area. So we did, once we were there an older lady then goes on to be rude, telling us we couldn’t order a steak with two salads as the sides. She then gets corrected by the first person to be nice the whole encounter. She took care of us from that point on and i let her know that she was the first person to be nice to us since we came in. This whole time there is a group of people standing outside smoking just beside the takeout area, i don’t know if they are there because they are already off. Or if because they just don’t have anything to do. If they don’t have anything to do and sit outside in groups of 6-8 people, then i don’t understand why we were treated with such disrespect today for asking questions and coming in trying to order food to go 40 minutes before they closed. Because the app didn’t work and the phone was not answered. I can’t speak for the rest of the staff. But the hostess with short brown hair and the older lady working the take out area at 6/8/24 around 10:20-10:30 definitely need a better idea of what...

We are regulars at bethelrd..& hilliard locations In columbus.and visit Newark locations when we're in the area thrifting 1-2 times monthly.. So on memorial day,as frequent visitors we got the alert of open hours for memorial day..at 12ish we arrived and requested the bar tables facing entrance ,ordered drinks upon her arrival at table ordered 4piece catfish, sweet potato answered salad - extra bowl tomatoes on side (explained my allergy..)& dressing ... when salad arrived covered in chopped tomatoes ,my husband started eating it..I explained Ed to delivery person I would need a salad without tomatoes as ordered,she agreed and brought it back k..no problem with a smile and a sorry,happy to fix be abuse of my allergy... About 5 minutes,later the waitress tries to take my 95.5yrold husband's salad from him telling us he can't have it!!, " you only get 1 salad,I told her,he's already started eating it,she said " she's gonna go to the manager!! SHE DID!! when she came back,she said " we're gonna let you KEEP ,IT THIS TIME" rude sarcastically- THE rest of her service was abrupt and showed her disdain attitude about a salad ..she didn't follow our request due to allergies we advised her of when ordering..the receipt sd " bar am" she never gave her name.. We are usually 20- 25 % tippers..we left her a note to that effect..although I'm pretty sure she didn't share.. What a way to treat a 95.5 yr old vet..on MEMORIAL DAY...OF ALL DAYS!! very sad indeed all over a salad...very...
