I was so excited when I found out there was going too be a new middle eastern food truck in okc. I tried this truck when it first opened here in okc and didn't like it. It was NOT authentic at all. I ordered the chicken and beef shawarma. They were most definitely NOT real authentic shawarma. I thought that it might have just been the one here in okc so I tried the one in houston last night and sadly it was the same experience. I have traveled to the middle east countless of times and tried many many shawarma's and this is by far the worst shawarma I have ever had. I have no idea how this company is as successful as it is. The shawarma is overpriced with very little meat or chicken. There are many places in houston that sell a shawarma packed with meat/chicken with authentic pita bread and sauce for 5 bucks a sandwich. If you want to pay 8 bucks for a tortilla with barley any chicken and garlic mayo which is NOT the real garlic sauce, then come here. But if your looking for a real authentic shawarma stay away from this place. This place is not a representation of real middle eastern...

I don't usually give bad reviews if it's an accident or unintentional. Last time I had Abu omar was in Cstat, Texas. When I saw a branch in OKC I was really excited to give it a try. I went to the location November 11, around 10 pm. As I walked there to give my order, the guy working talked to me really arrogantly. I noticed he had headphones and talking to someone. Now, I do understand if there is need to talk to your family or friend but you are working and customers should be your first priority. I tried to give him my order and kept getting interrupted and he was just in a hurry not to listen. He was arrogant and very mannerless. Took my order and asked him did you give me sauces that I wanted, they way he made his expression as if I asked for his kidney. Came home with my order and there were barely any meat on the rice bowl that I paid $13. Meats weren't chopped and hard like a bricks. I do request the owner please employ people who would like to work instead of being on phone and talk to customers rudely. I'm paying for my food. You guys aren't doing any...

Extremely rude to my wife. Then didn't give us what we ordered. Acted like he couldn't understand my wife when she simply asked if they had a vegetable option Shawarma, and intensely stared at her with anger. (This is not the first time either, he always has a bad attitude, especially with women I've noticed) Food we did receive was okay, but skimped on the fries, and they were soggy and cold. We asked for a side of hummus which was 5$, and was given some type of pudding instead. Parking lot was empty when we arrived, but quickly filled up with a bunch grown men acting like teenagers shouting in a foreign language back and forth with the guy in the truck, and were swinging cones around and shouting into traffic. By the time our order was ready, we could barely pull out of there. Overall impression: we're never going here again. Save your money and go literally...

There are some benches available outside the food truck, they were dirty we asked the food truck for some napkins to wipe the table down they said they didn’t have any (but when they gave us the food they were napkins?). The chicken shawarma arabi was ok, for some reason they didn’t put the pickles in the wrap - I lived in Dubai for a period of time and thought this was the signature for shawarma. I asked for extra pickles, they didn’t give me any. Also the fries seemed like they were old (double fried). The falafel was ok, seemed like they were store bought and just fried. My husband ordered the chicken zinger over rice and there was more batter than chicken. I didn’t enjoy it - defo would choose to go to shawarma and co instead.

Really was craving Mediterranean food, ordered through uber eats and was thoroughly disappointed by the food. I understand it’s not going to be the best after a delivery, but i ordered a salad bowl that was pictured much different than the end product. Picture was a smaller bowl, with a good ratio of protein, chickpeas, tomatos, onions, etc. (and most importantly, dressing on the side). What I got was mostly shredded bag lettuce, some grey meat, and GOBS of sauce/dressing. Basically inedible. 1 star because I had to give them something to write this review and warn you from making a terrible choice for your next meal.

I first had Afghan food in Billings, Montana of all places, but there is a family there with a little place serving authentic food. We are so fortunate to also have an Afghan family here with a restaurant and small market together. I am having the Quabili Pallow, which is a gigantic, not fork tender, but SPOON tender lamb shank! Cooked in the amazing long grain rice, shredded carrots and raisins. They serve this little thing vinegar chutney that I would eat a boot soaked in... lol! These folks are mighty hospitable and the food is outstanding. I also bought a nice little Persian carpet while I was at it!
