Would put 0 stars if I could. I never leave reviews, but the experience was so bad I had to write something. Went with my family because we had seen the good reviews, but after our experience, have serious doubts about them. Maybe this will help someone else avoid the problem. Because we had to drive across town, we called in to make sure we could get in. Politely asked if we could be on a wait list- they said they would put us on it but it seemed to irritate them. When we came in, they pointed us to our table which was wet from being wiped but still had chunks of food on it. Our waitress came by quickly and we asked her to wipe it again- which she did with a bothered attitude and with a still dirty towel and still left food chunks. She seemed disgruntled right from the start and so the whole time. After that, we had to wipe the table ourselves. When our water was brought, two cups had noticeable small chunks of funk in them, we asked for new ones and one of the new ones had chunks. We decided not to drink the water. Should have left then, but wanted to give the place a chance. Ordered coffee, which was brought out in a mug that had bleeped out expletives that you'd expect to get as a gag gift- I was with my young kids. I'm not a prude, but that was just off- I seriously wondered if it could've been a personal cup of someone that worked there that they served me coffee in(was it clean?), which is unthinkable. It was also chipped where you drink from it- no big deal, but things are adding up. While waiting for our food which took some time(no big deal), I saw an employee aimlessly spraying a table and EVERYTHING on it with cleaner, including the tops of salt and pepper shakers and other table goods. After receiving our food and getting a good ways into the meal, my son found a short, thick hair right in the middle of his burger. My daughter had to pull hair out of her mouth from her chicken strips. Who knows what was buried in the gravy covered dish I had? At this point, it started to seem purposeful, and considering the attitude, who knows? We then looked up other reviews and found similar experiences. No one asked if everything was good or if we had any issues. Paid anyways and left somewhat sick to my stomach that we had eaten there. We had asked for to go boxes before finding the hairs. Obviously, we left them there and they politely reminded us we left them and we told them we did it on purpose because of the hairs- they said nothing else- no response at all. My daughter was sick the next day and missed...

Since the latter half of 2021, my wife and I have went to Good Gravy many, many times. Each visit is a delight. There is a reason why Oklahoma Magazine voted them as the best diner in 2018; they are consistently on pointe.
Going in, you're greeted by the nice and friendly atmosphere. Even on busy days, the wait staff is there for you, quick to get you a seat or booth. They have gravy related signs on the walls. Dining area is always clean.
They have both breakfast and lunch options. I can't speak for lunch; but, the breakfast is yum city. I've established my ritual plate being their Mexican Omelette with hash browns and maple bacon gravy. Imagine a perfectly cooked omelette stuffed over the brim with hamburger, grilled bell peppers, onions, jalapenos, and covered with a generous amount of melted cheese with a side of salsa. Good size amount of hash browns on the side, well cooked. Then we get to the star of the show: the maple bacon biscuits and gravy. The biscuits serve as a perfect sponge for the white gravy, speckled with pieces of bacon for saltiness. Then you get the subtle sweetness of maple at the end. Once you start eating, you can't stop. Every time, my plate is left empty.
All of this for $11.99! I would, without any complaints, pay more for a plate of this quality. My wife and I compensate the gap with a high tip. Well deserved.
We cannot forget, again, about the service. The staff treats you like family here. Always friendly.
This is a diner to explore again and again and again. They have over 40 options for biscuits and gravy. They also have gravy options served exclusively on the weekend like Italian sausage or the oddly divine chocolate gravy. (You may raise a brow, but I assure you it works.)
My recommendation is obviously high. Get in and get some Good Gravy. Your tummy will...

Not that this place needs anymore positive reviews, but I just can't help but to add my 2-cents. such a rare find and PERFECT last-restaurant-dining-experience to have on my recent trip to OKC. First off the name; #amirite Perfect name for that good ole comfort food and home cooking one might expect. The people (literally everyone) were the kindest you'd expect from family members. Talk about feeling right at home! I took a seat in the corner, knowing I'd be there for a while, as I was catching up with an old friend from the neighborhood. We were swiftly greeted by (who I now know to be Chandra due to my recent feedback via IG) our waitress who had the kindest of demeanor. I literally would have given her a hug for the wonderful camaraderie provided. She mentioned liking my "Big Boy Shoes" and that set the tone for a wonderful atmosphere, a wonderful meal, and wonderful conversation. The decor is a bit whimsical with a nod to southern charm. I couldn't let this big boot go without being photographed. A big and hearty chicken fried steak sandwich with a hefty pile of home-cut fries blanketed my plate. Thank goodness it was red, or it would've appeared I was eating right off the table! The chicken fried steak sandwich was exactly Oklahoma through and through. Tender and perfectly breaded. Del Rancho, who?! I don't think so ... This was the perfect chicken fried steak sandwich you could ever ask for. Funny, it must be an Oklahoma thing but I was asked whether I wanted mustard or mayo. I mean, mustard? On a CFS sandwich ... What??? LOL not for this guy. Please do stop in to this place based solely off my review. But come early, because as 2PM approaches, them folks are headed out! Kudos Chandra for making my Big Boy Shoes self feel ......
