This is a store I have shopped at for years and have recommended countless times. Even though you can find most of what they sell on Amazon or various places for somewhat cheaper, Iâve always thought that shopping local and the toy store experience can often outweigh those benefits. But I will say I will never be returning to this place and on top of never recommending again, I will actively share my deep concerns with this business to all of my many parent and grandparent friends.
A few days ago I was in the store having a pleasant time shopping with my 3 year old child. There were 2-3 employees working. After a while an older woman came in. I would guess she was either the owner or a manager based on the sense of authority she seemed to have. They all proceeded to have a jovial, cheerful conversation that could easily be heard as we walked around shopping. I couldnât help but overhear their conversation. The older woman was leading the conversation, and had prompted the discussion of their disgust with the changes that the administration is making to the Smithsonian in DC. I personally found their conversation to be humorous at first. This conversation was maybe excessive in intensity but to each their own; however, it quickly turned disturbing. The older lady proceeded to announce that, âSomeone needs to shoot Trump. That man needs to die.â One of the employees said, âSomeone did shoot him.â And she responded while laughing, âYeah, but it didnât work.â As they proceeded to talk more about how the president should be assassinated, I moved my child away in hopes we wouldnât have to listen to more.
For days it bothered me but I continued to blow it off. I am ashamed to admit that I had come to think that people talking like that is normal. That thinking like that and feeling no shame in talking like that is normal. Not good but normal. I was wrong. Thinking and talking like that is disgusting. Itâs wrong. They were vile and outside of reason. I absolutely will not give my money or let other people unknowingly give their money to people who think it is normal to support murder because they donât like something or someone. The logic of the people in that childrenâs toy shop, would have justified the shooting of me if their disgusting inhumanity was taken to its logical conclusionâŚ. And all of this because she was mad that Trump doesnât like a painting. What in the world? These people are...
Read moreWhat a rare gem this is! So many choices! All educational! Large variety and selection. This is a unique toy store. Took my 1.5 yr old granddaughter. The kids can interact with the toys. This gives them the ability to choose their own after trying so many. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful, patient, knowledgeable and goes the extra mile. Unusual selection and regular. When you go plan on taking your time to really go through and explore the possibilities and hidden treasures. Be sure to ask about their Rewards Card. Its quite different from any other. The Learning Tree will not disappoint! Thank you for reaching out to our little people in a unique and fun way. We...
Read moreWe were cheerfully greeted upon entering. They definitely have a large selection of items for indoor and outdoor play. However, I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff crammed into this retail space. It was visually exhausting. I am also hard-pressed to believe the aisles are ADA compliant with the large amount of displays and items crowding the walkways and hanging past the shelves. Great little store if you can handle the cramped atmosphere and don't need the minimum required aisle space to navigate a mobility...
