Came here once to dine in and we were pretty happy and planned on coming back. Placed a mobile order today (5/7/24 around 5:30pm) and had a very different experience.
Placed the order before I arrived and still had to wait several minutes, when the only thing I ordered was a small chicken bites.
The price online for a small chicken bites via their Door Dash mobile storefront is $11.99. In store, the price is $9.99. Maybe this is to account for Door Dash fees, but it still feels dishonest. Why not offer an option to order directly from your website via your Google listing, rather than only via Door Dash? Other businesses manage to do this.
They forgot to give me my plasticware. When I had to go back in to get it, they seemed ambivalent and just handed it to me while continuing to talk amongst themselves.
The glaze on my chicken was so hardened and sticky (and sweet) that it was hard to eat. When I got these bites before they were not like this, but this time it was more like candied chicken.
These may seem like little things, but it's the little things that separate a good business from a mid business. Like treating your customers like you care, rather than like they don't exist. I was going to make this a regular post-workout stop, but now that's easy money they'll...
Read moreNestled at the end of a new but inconspicuous stripmall on the east side of May just south of SW 104th, Krave Terriyaki is a wonderful choice for simple turns on Far East cooking.
From simple protein plates with either chicken or beef and a choice of rice, to sushi rolls, to Soba noodle bowls, our family has found Krave to be a very tasty and consistent change of pace from fast-food and quick-service locations.
Krave offers a pleasant, clean, urban atmosphere in a small setting. Their menu also includes a variety of appetizers, including chicken bites in either spicy or garlic butter varieties. Their dessert offerings include an especially smooth and flavorful "red bean" ice cream, which I highly recommend!
My beef plate ($9) was perfectly seasoned and generous. My wife, who opted for spicy sauce over my sweet choice, thoroughly enjoyed her platter as well, opting for fried rice (+$1) over brown. She mentioned she might skip the tofu in her Miso soup, but otherwise found her dinner more than satisfying.
Each of our kids (well, 22 and 20) opted for Soba shrimp skillets and devoured them.
Krave is moderately priced and provides walk-up ordering from it's simple menu, with dishes served up piping hot. We'll definitely be making a...
Read moreUsed to be 5 stars, then 3, now 1... Update 2: I had dinner here today and will likely never come back, which sucks because this used to be my favorite restaurant. It was 77 degrees in there when I ordered. Then the heat kicked on. It was up to 86 when I finally had enough of it and left without finishing my food. Why do you guys do this? It's obnoxious.
Also, the quality of food here has decreased dramatically. The garlic butter chicken bites used to be good sized pieces of chicken and delicious. Now they are pencil eraser sized scraps of dried out, overcooked chicken that are too small to eat with chopsticks. They've been this way for a few months. What happened to this once great restaurant? This place sucks now.
Update: Great food, great atmosphere, great service, great music. The only downside is that it's always too hot in there. The AC barely runs in the summer, and the heat is maxed out in the fall, winter, and spring. This has always been a problem here, but it's gotten a lot worse in the last 6 months or so. Nobody wants to eat in an 85 degree dining room...
