I have literally been coming here since I was about 6. I am almost 29 now and this is still my absolute favorite Chinese place to go. I have tried several places but no one else gets it the way Rainbow gets it. I don't live close anymore but any chance I get to pass through the Southside or even Moore, I make a stop here. The owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet and the price for what you get is amazing. I don't think it's even changed since I was young. They are incredibly consistent with the food. I'm so happy I went yesterday for dinner and that I bought extra to bring home. I just finished eating some of those leftovers š . I will always and forever recommend this place. I remember being known as the water girl when I was a kid because every time me and my mom came in I would beg for their water because even that tasted better š. Rainbow is a piece of my childhood and I'm happy I get to share that with my son cause he knows and loves Rainbow now too lol. How do they make the chicken fried rice so good?! I've never had rice be so delicious anywhere else and I don't feel as though I can live...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have no clue nor idea why this place is so well liked or well known on this part of town. I have ate here before to see what all the hype was about⦠ordered 2 dishes, the food has no taste.. I had to add like 4 or 5 packets of soy sauce to get taste from it. Plus the pepsiās were watered down and they needed to change or fix the filter on the drink machine. The food also taste like it has been reused or left over for days.
Iām not trying to sound racist ( because I am also White Caucasian); but it seems like many people who eat here or like this food at China Rainbow are basically ignorant White people who canāt handle spicy food, or they donāt know authentic chinese food nor foreign or exotic foods. What Iām trying to say is⦠this just seems like Chinese food for the average joe! Nothing special, exotic, nor unique. Food is no good! I donāt understand nor see what the appeal is!
Also it is located in a run down bad area of town... it's at Sw 59th and Agnew by the old "Del...

It could mean rainbow bread, it could mean Rainbow vacuum cleaners, and Google Maps seems to think that it means that it is a restaurant. I wish people would take a bit more time before they name a place to decide exactly how to let people know what it is...
