Cute place but weird energy. Staff seemed a little frazzled with the number of orders but it was not that busy. Maybe their food menu is too big for their staffing/kitchen? Idk. I changed my mind on ordering food because it seemed like it would be a burden on the team.
The shop dog (iām assuming shop dog based on no leash and free roaming nature) was allowed in the drink/food area which is a health code no no from my understanding but seems like everybodyās cool with it. The cashier tending to the dog also seemed to be a cause for longer than expected wait times for order taking based on what I heard from other patrons who were in line in front of me when I was waiting for a cup of ice.
My biggest gripe, however, was that for a place with COFFEE in the name, the barista when I was there did NOT know what a cortado is or how to make it and did not google it to double check themselves before making it. They gave me a double shot of espresso with a very small amount of milk foam on top lol lol. I wish they admitted they couldnāt make it when I ordered so that I could just make another choice ā itās no big deal if folks are not versed. The state of chaos there led me to just asked for a to go cup of ice to pour the shots over and add my own milk at home. A cortado, btw, is equal parts espresso (usually a double shot) and steamed milk with a microfoam that is not frothy nor separate from the espresso. 1:1 ratio of steamed milk and coffee.
The coffee bar wasnāt stocked. No sugar only artificial sweetener. No stirrers.
I think Iām good on going back but I can see why it is trendy and well...
Read moreTHIS is where you go to enjoy coffee from a coffee shop that is for the community. If you are looking for the warmest of welcomes and the sweetest customer service, then you are reading the right review and you have found the right coffee shop. I brought my fiancé here as a little surprise because she deserves a treat, especially on the weekends and this coffee shop delivered without even trying. The merchandise is so humorous and so catchy, the food has so much favor and is simple but amazing, and the coffee was well handcrafted. The espresso had so much boldness and the syrups did not taste too sweet or strong at all in terms of flavor! The baristas have patience and the environment reminds me of those coffee shops on a rainy day where you'd go as your happy place and are also looking for inclusivity. This shop went viral for a reason and I am so glad it found its way on my feed. We are very impressed and will be coming back. EASILY my top 5 coffee shops and I will now recommend this shop along with my others I love going to. Keep being unique, team at Toast & Coffee! You are contributing more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been coming to this breakfast spot for months and it WAS my favorite breakfast spot. The staff has became slow and donāt care about the business, on one day I came to the spot to grab something quick and I wasnāt alone it was another customer there as well. I go to open the door and I couldnāt get it cause it was 5 min before open and the employee opened the door and told me such very thing so I said okay walked away and started to walk down the street and I turn to look back at the restaurant and the employee opened the door for him I felt the only reason that was done cause I am black and the other person was white. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would I really see toast and coffee for what they are ā¦. Picking one race over the other maāam is damn plan racism. Donāt ever go here if...
