2nd visit to the Tower for a show. Small venue which is fine. Remodeled older theater which is great. I get my tickets online so I can't address buying on site. Security is good. 1st visit we went through a wanding outside before entering, presented our tickets and received a wrist band. 2nd time we presented our tickets, got wrist band and a light wanding. Entered the building and went through the security portal. Don't take a pocket knife that you always have in your jeans because they will make you take it out of the theater. Once in you have the option of going though a side entrance to the Ponyboy Club for drinks or going to your seat. They have people at the doors to direct you to your seat if you're not real familiar with the seating. Seating is folding chairs or tables. We went to a burlesque show so we had options for both types of seating.
First visit we opted for the less expensive chairs. Not a fan. Close like an airplane seating without the arm rest. No place to put your drinks except by your chair on the floor and you know what happens to your drink right? You always windup kicking it over. They have some rows of chairs that have a ledge for setting things on. Good choice, but still tight and folding chairs. So far to me are the tables. They aren't bar height so you still get a folding chair, but you have a table to save your drinks. We set at a table in front of the sound board. It wasn't loud and if someone at a table around you got up you didn't have to stand up to let them pass.
They have a bar with craft beer. You can do a tab. Water and soft drinks are in a cooler by the bar, but you pay at the bar. Don't forget to tip the bar tenders.
It wasn't too hot or too cold, but we were setting out of the crowd. It might have been warmer the closer to the stage as it seemed more crowded. Sound was good. Could hear the music and dialogue well.
It's just a quaint place to enjoy an evening of entertainment. Oh and after the show you can go through the pass to the PonyBoy.
Parking is free on NE 23 across the street from the theatre. There is a cross walk with a light so you don't have to dodge the traffic trying to get across. I think there might be some street parking and parking...
Read moreEdit: I changed my review from 1 star to 4 for the following reason:
After posting this, Tower reached out to me and offered Lady Camden tickets in lieu of a refund. Though I was annoyed I wasnât offered a refund outright, I appreciated that at least someone reached out with some sort of solution for the disappointing night.
Tonight I was informed that Lady Camden has to be rescheduled for reasons out of their control. They offered me the full refund or to keep my comp tickets. Overall, I appreciate that they took the time to make this right.
Original review: I used to love the events Tower Theater put on, but after this Willow Pill disaster, never again.
The entire event was terribly disorganized, and we know now that was because Willow Pillâs flight had been delayed; however, we didnât know that then. Instead we were told to get there at 6pm to line up for a M&G that wasnât happening until after the show, then told to form another line, then were forced to watch local queens stall for 3 hours, all while promising that Willow Pill would be here. There was no transparency, no option for people to leave and get their money back, nothing. Complete dishonesty.
Willow did perform â but not until 11 pm after they were exhausted all day and had just filmed the Drag Race finale the night before. They only performed 2 songs, did the Meet and Greet (which was rushed and also disorganized â there wasnât even lighting set up for this) that Willow did out of the goodness of their heart. It was clear they were miserable the entire time because of how exhausted they were.
Tower shouldâve been transparent and canceled this event or rescheduled it. They didnât. Instead Tower has decided to delete all of their social media regarding this event to try to erase it, block people from calling them (at least when my wife and I called, we got a âcall failedâ message) and refuse to answer their email. All I want is a refund. We deserve a refund for this mess.
I wonât be booking anything else from Tower anymore. Sucks to miss Lady Camden, but I wonât chance losing my...
Read moreI would loved to have been there this evening, my hubby got us tickets for our 1 year anniversary. Had tickets in the Orchestra area no less! We ultimately ended up not attending. My husband is law enforcement and upon arrival was denied entry because he had his firearm (concealed, not out where everyone could see). Even after he presented his CLEET card and badge, security said NO. State statute has a very clear exception for law enforcement (look it up, I refuse to argue). So, we called law enforcement to make it known, on record, that the Tower Theater violates state statues as it applies to law enforcement. This venue is NOT LEO friendly, therefore I will avidly NOT recommend this venue to anyone. OKCPD backed up what my husband was stating and told them that they were ABSOLUTELY violating state statute. As they were speaking with OKCPD a fight broke out in a bar next door.. And yet, we donât want law enforcement carrying in a venue that serves alcohol. Even OKCPD stated that they wouldnât go into this particular venue unarmed. But, Iâm sure that their 3 unarmed, non CLEET certified security guards (who looked to be barely 21) have it entirely under control. đ I was looking forward to this so much, but The Tower Theater has lost my patronage AND my respect. 0/10 do not recommend to anyone. Especially if youâre LEO. Period. I wouldâve left zero stars, but I wouldnât have been able to...
