My girlfriend just moved in the area and we decided to try this place out first. It was Saturday night and we showed up at 7:25pm, not knowing the kitchen closed at 7:30. Despite only 5 minutes left, the bartender Nathaniel assured us it was no problem to put in a last second order for the kitchen before they closed. The cook came out from the back and not only told us it wasn't a problem but recommended the 16" Bacon Blanc with an addition of chicken and candied jalapenos (that he'd made himself). Pizza was absolutely phenomenal. The candied jalapenos are a revelation, and that was the best pie I've had since Brooklyn NY. I do a lot of traveling as a pilot and a TON of food eating as a foodie at each of the places I travel. Service was fantastic considering how much of an inconvenience we were being, and the food was absolutely incredible 🤙 will recommend Apogee to anyone looking for food even remotely in the area.
And to Cory, the owner, keep the candied jalapenos on the...
Read moreGreat atmosphere, great hours, not common to have a coffee shop blended into a restaurant to be open until 9pm. Got my coffee fix as am in Olathe for 7 nights on a love story (long story) mission from VA to give moral support to my boyfriend M Dz*z who is going through a lot. But this is ode to Olathe for having men who truly know how to love, am grateful for your values not found mostly everywhere. Am digressing but good to tell of my disposition when I came to Apogee looking for a good vanilla latte to ease my sadness. The staff was very friendly and walked the latte to hand to me, service a 5 for sure.
Ambiance is a 4, different folks come for different reasons - mingling, pizza late night, parents waiting for their kids, then an adjacent open area leading to the sports (?) complex next door that had rock climbing apparatus. Semi chaotic ambiance, can’t even pinpoint whether it’s touristy or divey or romantic!?? Thank you Kansas for your warm welcome, neat...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: I felt compelled to post this in response to Austin Hill's 2-star review from Friday, January 30. - Not trying to be argumentative here but perhaps it would be best to extend a bit of grace to a small business owner that opened the doors of a shop right in the midst of a pandemic. Pretty sure he hasn’t laid off any of his employees. He’s doing his best to stick by that and at the same time balance that out with getting a new business up and running. Your review hits on all the upsides to having this business in a part of town that stands high above all its competitors.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: FINALLY a great shop in Olathe! Great coffee, great pizza, and original drinks!! What else do we need? The staff is super friendly and the pizza is so good! The crust is like no other spot in town. And if you are into bourbon, scotch, etc, check out Whiskey Wednesdays. The owner is quite knowledgable on this topic and loves to...
