We are frequent visitors to the Outback Steakhouse in Old Bridge with our last visit on Friday, April 14 (2023). I am showing 4-stars only because most people think 5-stars are made up; they are worth 5-stars. I’m not going to say every visit is as smooth as glass and you could experience minor hic-cups at any given visit but they are quickly remedied. The Friday visit was as smooth as glass. The staff is friendly. Once seated we hardly have to wait for our server to show up to take our drink order and the drinks with that famous warm bread come out with hardly a wait. The servers are very friendly and very attentive from beginning to end. The restaurant is clean, including the restrooms, which is sign management cares. Great portions & prices as well. Now for the food. Ah yes, the food is great. I’ll typically order the Grilled Chicken on the Barbie or Shrimp on the Barbie, my wife the Shrimp on the Barbie or the Pork Chops. All are cooked right and delicious. I’ve heard from friends that their other dishes, especially their steaks are excellent as well. We’re amazed at their vegetables; wish we could make broccoli and asparagus at home the way they make it at Outback. By the way, going out can be expensive (but of course, expensive is relative) but the prices here are not only reasonable but I always walk out with the feeling I got the value I was looking for. All this is why we keep coming back and why I would highly recommend this Outback Steakhouse - Old Bridge location to you. Again, showing 4-Stars hoping you will read this and believe it but they are a 5-Star restaurant. One last thing, join the free Diners Awards program. They also take part in the AARP discount...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came in around 8pm to an empty restaurant. We asked to sit at the bar and immediately a male waiter started and said RIGHT SIDE to which the hostess obliged, as the left side was uncleaned and the right side with two tables available. The night got progressively worse in a way I did not understand having worked in corporate restaurants even managing an establishment very much like this one. The drinks were ok, the short blond female with a ponytail and glasses, a food runner screamed at me for simply asking to add something to my order. I said excuse me can I…and she abruptly screamed “I’M NOT YOUR WAITER!!!” A bar patron halfway across the room even uttered “ never in my life have I heard that before” my fiancé and I chalked it up to a busy night and frustration. She came back to run more food and I asked can you get our server please, she rolled her eyes and walked off. Her manager, a heavy set woman with pigtails heard the initial response as she turned around and followed her to the kitchen. During this another waitress, a heavy set curly haired female talked poorly to another waiter about our server even asking him in front of us “did you check on them because they keep staring.” The manager never came over the entire dinner as is corporate policy to at least check in on the tables. I usually order takeout and now I won’t be back. The waiter we had was actually great we simply wanted to add a side of shrimp we forgot to order in the beginning. There’s absolutely no reason for coworkers and managers to treat others this way! We left our waiter more than 20% because it seemed as though the other staff hated him and in turn his tables...
Read moreWe visited Outback Steakhouse located at 1397 US Hwy 9, Old Bridge, NJ on Saturday, 1/22/22 around 5:45 pm. It was a busy time on a weekend, but we called ahead to avoid a long wait time. Even though it was busy, there was plenty of parking. They have a wheelchair accessible ramp for those who may require it. We arrived on time & they texted us within 5 minutes or less to be seated. There is plenty of seating inside if you choose to wait in there. They were extremely friendly & it was a nice environment. The waitress came to the table to take our order within minutes, bringing us warm bread & butter. They have quite a nice menu selection (something for everyone.) from drinks, appetizers, dinner & dessert. Our order came out in a timely fashion & was absolutely delicious!! The steak was a nice cut, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I honestly can’t complain about anything! Our waitress was attentive, checking on us regularly to see if we needed anything. The place seemed clean (can’t review the bathroom – didn’t visit it). Kudos to the employees of this establishment & management – everyone seemed happy & it shows.
We would highly recommend this Outback Steakhouse - Old Bridge location to others. Great portions & prices as well. We eat out quite a bit & we were pleasantly surprised with this excellent service. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. Call ahead to avoid a long wait.
