Everything would have been excellent but I ran into a problem. When I ordered my food over the phone the waitress was very nice and I was told 25 to 30 mins. When I arrived about 30 minutes later I payed for my order and was told it would be right out. No one said another word to me as I stood by the front door for the next 15 minutes. Finally a bus boy brought out some to go containers and slide them into one of those delivery hot bags and walked away. I then waited for the hostess to come over and tell me, my order was ready she then pulled the containers out of the bag placed them into a box and went into a second bag and pulled out my pizza (which I realized had been sitting in that warming bag since before I arrived). When I questioned why the pizza didn't come out with the rest of the food, she told me that she had just put it in the bag before I arrived. When I explained I'd been there over 15 minutes and really didn't want a cold soggy pizza. She walked away. I don't know if she was getting a manager or what but she didn't say anything just walked away. So I left not wanting the rest of my order to get cold. Now the food is really good...we tried the stuffed mushrooms (GREAT!), shrimp oreganata (GREAT!), Gnocchi Sorrentina really good, Shrimp Boscaiola, the sauce is creamy and light, and a pizza good but as I thought cold and soggy. So in the future don't cook a thin crust pizza 1st. It was probably the easiest thing to cook and done way before...
Read moreWe had an early dinner tonight to celebrate our parents anniversary and birthday. Even though we we used to live locally, we had never eaten here before and chose it from the reviews. It’s definitely a hidden gem of Old Bridge! The staff was super friendly, accommodating and personable. The food was absolutely delicious! We loved the big tomatoes and cans of Esposito red sauce as decor throughout the restaurant too. My personal favorite was the vodka sauce. I’m very picky but it was the best vodka sauce I’ve ever had. The restaurant is in the smaller side and really echoey, but otherwise very lovely. We unfortunately had a big party of some very rude dining guests behind us and that unfortunately killed the atmosphere for us a bit because we had to yell for our elderly parents to be able to hear us, BUT the staff was so apologetic about it and clearly had their hands full with them, and that wasn’t their fault. As soon as this large family of diners left, the atmosphere became a lot cozier. It’s a shame people like have to ruin the experience for everyone around them, but I would highly recommend Via Sposito and we will definitely be returning...
Read moreI rarely eat out since I have limited time but whenever I choose to go out I choose places that provide great food.In the past I used to read reviews before I choose a restaurant but later realized that the reviews were deceiving since most people think great food it is measure by quantity and not bu quality. I am an italian born in Italy and grew up surrounded by amazing food since all the women in my family are excellent cooks.Today I had the pleasure to go to Villa Sposito for a quick lunch and felt right at home, the ambiance is warm, there is a great mural in the back wall depicting an Italian village which is simply exquisite. The brick oven where the pizza is made is an authentic one and the pizza was outstanding. All the ingredients where if premium quality and everything is hand made from the focaccia ,mozzarella, and the ricotta cheese cake .I will be visiting via sposito with my all family for dinner very soon. This is a real Italian restaurant, everything is fresh, the owner is passionate about his restaurant and the all staff is outstanding. Thank you for keeping these Italian dishes alive and for providing our community with real...
