Our family found Dancation 5 years ago when our daughter was 8. She had started dancing at age 3, and loved dance classes, however the school she was attending didn’t offer much beyond beginner level steps and the routines became repetitive. The first class at Dancation had us hooked, we felt that our daughter was finally learning new steps and techniques. The first recital was so organized and wonderful. Our daughter spent the summer after recital crafting superhero costumes to match the opening number. It wasn’t long before she was taking additional classes, and trying new styles of dance. The amount of progress she has made is overwhelming. It is great to attend a studio where the director teaches the recreational classes in addition to Competition Level classes. The opportunity our daughter has found is limitless. Her confidence and ability to take correction impresses me, and I owe it to the culture of the studio. I also appreciate the focus on technique and actual dancing that doesn’t rely on how many “tricks” or acrobatics can be squeezed into a routine (don’t get me wrong-it’s available if that’s what you are looking for). They truly boost each dancer, not only with their dance ability, but also with their confidence and self-worth. I love that this is a family run business. The owner, Kristen, and her sister, Kaitlyn, are such wonderful people! They are truly invested in every dancer. I see how much they care, especially with COVID.
