Until Today I never had a bad experience here i'm a happy customer of more than a decade
Brought to Tears I'm SO Confused?? Mother & I endured a wildly indecent unsatisfactory experience here tonight celebrating Birthday
To our displeasure we were seated at a table to be attended to by this unhinged irritable server 'Joey' with a Reckless Tongue, No Self Discipline, No Hospitality.
Arrived at 5:30 Leaving at 8:00 much too long for early dinner service
I grew impatient reasonably so after waiting excessively longer than usual for the server to offer to take our order I decided to politely exercise my choice by heading back up to the hostess station and asked to have a different waiter that is readily available to take our order. I approached the hostess station twice to bring awareness to mgmt. to the fact that we had been neglected to be served.
When i returned to our table 'Joey' offering no apology for untimely service rather he hostily confronted us two defenseless ladies angrily unloading on us Shouting Yelling "I'm working! I'm here now" When i walked away to report the insulting misconduct he harassing me followed. He behaved like a chauvinist with no respect for women.
I asked that Manager Millie to get involved to pipe him down and have him to knock it off. 'Joey' ignored management, became even worse confrontational and argumentative, even stooped so low as to use use foul profanity curse words as mgmt witnessed. Joey obviously had no forethought of the consequences of his inappropriate inexcusable choice to behave badly.
I personally exercised a great deal of restraint with 'Joey' as he continued to berate and antagonize me right in front of Millie (Mgmt) ignoring her insistence as well as mine that he walk away and stop shouting at me.
Millie assured me that the servers abusive outburst will be addressed. Millie lightened the mood and convinced me to stay, she personally took excellent care of us. She was intent on making sure our evening wasn't totally ruined. Thank You...
Read moreSushi alive used to be my FAVORITE sushi place!! I live out in Brooksville and make is a mission to come out once a month to get sushi, I wouldn’t even be tempted to go anywhere else for it. Every time I come, the service continues to decline. To be fair, I do pick up orders only. However, when I go inside and pick up my order at the desk, there are always 4 people at the front desk, chatting and not paying attention to the customers walking in. Again, my experience today. I waited there and all those facing me just awkwardly look away and asked the one to the back of me to help me. I waited over 30 minutes for my to go order. At one point, when I went back up to front desk to check on status of food, the manager was chatting with the girls upfront, took a look at me and continued to chat... I honestly will not be returning. I’m so tired of the continued poor service and lack of communication between the employees.
Update: I have to remove a star, after eating our dinner tonight, this confirms that I will not be returning. My husband was literally forcing himself to eat the food, he got the teriyaki chicken and veggies. My husband does not ever complain about food, so for him to complain is a pretty big deal. Rice was terrible, chicken was tasteless. My sushi was not the quality it used to be. I had 3 sushi rolls and was literally forcing myself to finish the last one. Sincerely disappointed.
Funny how the response is the same from sushi alive as all the other negative comments. Copy and paste! Can’t even take the time to write a sincere apology. On top of that, the manager is never “available” when calling. Poor customer experience all around. So different than the old...
Read moreStrange but Sushi Alive is VERY Proud of their Talapia. Many sushi restaurants serve white fish and the fish is actually white. Not at this place. Their white fish is actually tilapia and will have red meat throughout the slice of sashimi. I understand that it is a very cheap fish to serve but it tastes very different when eaten as sashimi than white fish that is pure and clean white served in other restaurants. Other restaurants serve a pure white fish like striped bass, flounder And even sea bass as their whitefish. At Sushi Alive their Yellowtail is the same in that it is the portion of the fish with red meat in it. It is very similar in looks to the tilapia they are serving but I was assured that it was a different fish even though they looked exactly the same. Once again, it’s a less expensive cut of yellowtail but at a cost of flavor and a perception of eating something different. Hard to justify when it all looks the same. Experience very good sushi and you will learn the difference. You will see the difference. Sushi alive does have great salmon and makes an outstanding birds nest with salmon egg. The scallops are definitely scallops. Tasty too. Just so disappointed in the inexpensive tilapia white fish and yellowtail tasting and looking almost exactly the same which was very fishy. I question why order them at all. A big plate of salmon sashimi, some scallop hand rolls please with a birds nest and I will leave happier. Or it’s hard to miss with...
