Wife and I went to DQ to cool down on a hot day... worst experience yet. We have had issues 3 or 4 times over the last 5 years hoping a new staff or management would make it better but today was par for the course with our previous visits with an added twist.
They were NOT busy at all. There was one other couple there at that time, that had to return half of their order due to some other preparation error
For us, my wife's simple one topping sundae had like half a serving of sprinkles on it. When "Anna" came out and served us, my wife asked if she could have a little more sprinkles on her sundae because it wasnt fully covered and was told verbatim "Not now" in a snarky tone!!! Now the IRONIC part: When we looked at our receipt we were actually CHARGED for EXTRA SPRINKLES and hadn't even asked for it!!! I would wager a bet they OVER-CHARGE all sundaes with the extra topping fee.
I cant see, from a business perspective, how someone asking for a little more topping wouldnt be met immediately with a "no problem" or at least "we're supposed to charge extra for that but here you go" ... but "NOT NOW" ?! Really? But its even WORSE when you had already charged that customer for more than they had asked for and then declined their request after overcharging them for the exact thing they were asking you about.
Even my cheesecake blizzard had absolutely NO strawberry filling in the middle, which was the main reason I chose it.
This isnt the first time we've had this type of experience at this DQ and I'M SURE we are not alone. Their overall 3.6 rating seems very generious for the number of service issues we have experienced. I mean how hard is it to put together an ice cream for an order? Seriously?
I just wish there was another DQ "locally" that i could go to. Guess its back to...
Read moreThis is yet another restaurant in this city that seems to have this one menu item that can completely shut down their crew if you order it. Three times now I've gone and ordered a drink and a Peanut Buster Parfait. Do you have any idea how long it takes Dairy Queen to make a Peanut Buster Parfait?
Now, I know what you're thinking. It's just ice cream, hot fudge, and peanuts. How could it possibly be that complicated? I know. I thought the same thing. But, there must be some kind of blessing ritual that must be performed over this treat before it can be served to a customer. And using my past three visits as a reference this ritual must take a minimum of 11 minutes.
So, if you go, don't order a Peanut Buster Parfait. If you do you'll have to wait patiently while the employees consult the voodoo gods for their blessing before they can serve you this sacred dessert.
Beyond this puzzling dairy item, there are other problems. Long wait times and a staff that seems to fluctuate between a state of annoyance and indifference. They don't appear to be authorized to show any other moods. And the managers certainly lead the staff by example.
Burgers will be burned with shocking consistency. I'm actually at a point where I believe that the restaurant thinks a burger patty is SUPPOSED to look like that. But at least the pretzels always seem to come out pretty good.
So, if you're going to visit, I suppose I recommend the pretzels. Just... pretzels. Order...
Read moreTypically, this location is pretty good with both food AND service. It's a block or so from my house, so I love the convenience. However, tonight was a big disappoinment.
My wife (tired and sore from a full day on her feet) offered to treat my son and I by bringing us Blizzards. It was around 8:20 in the evening and she ordered her meal, as well as two medium Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzards for me and the boy. After waiting several minutes just to place her order in the drive thru, the young lady at the window hands her the meal and two bowls with "Brownie sundaes" (not Blizzards). My wife informs the young lady of the mistake, and she had the Blizzards made and given to my wife.
HOWEVER, the young lady charged my wife, AGAIN for the treats (double charged). By this time my wife had been there for 45 minutes, and she didn't have the energy to correct the young lady, again. Then when she finally got home, we found the actual Blizzards weren't made correctly.
Now, I can understand the challenging times we're living in with the COVID silliness and the regulations an establishment must adhere to as a result. But, that shouldn't cause quality to diminish. I'm only giving a "one star" to grab the attention of the management team so they can correct this. It's unlikely this will deter me from visiting this location (I LOVE my...
