DRAMA STORY. My gf went to this restaurant years ago and she won a trivia contest for a free entree. On the gift certificate it was written "Expiration Date: never" (" 'never' was written in") and was signed by the manager. When we went in to use the gc (granted it was some time after she received the gc), the current manager/bartender (who's name was Denny I can never forget) said he couldn't honor it because the GC was too old. We weren't talking about a lot of money here as it was just one entrée, but it was aggravating that this bartender/manager was so hung up over $7 when our total bill was over $40. I paid the bill, but left no tip and wrote "see Denny" on the tip line. As I was leaving I noticed the waitress literally run to the manager with my receipt. This guy had the nerve to approach me in the parking lot as I was literally stepping in my vehicle. He had my receipt in his hand and asked if I had a problem tonight. I said, "Yeah, I came here because I thought you would honor the GC that quite clearly says, 'Never Expires'. I'm not tipping on that." He then cops an attitude, looks down at the receipt and says, "Let's see how many drinks we had tonight, sir... Probably too many... I'm calling the cops." and he stomps off to somehow get the last word. I've sent several emails to the owners and written this same review on Yelp and no one has ever responded. I'm hoping the owner finally reads this as I can see he responds to these Google review posts. Hopefully, you fired this guy by now, but it's awfully telling about the establishment from the top when the employees become so miserly that this turns into an incident I will never forget.
Reply to Owner Below: Chris, thanks for your reply. I'm glad you finally saw this. I don't know how long you've been the owner, but I looked up my review on Yelp (look in the "not recommended" section), and the year was 2011 when I originally left it. Yes, the bartender's name was Denny, but think back to 2011, maybe I'm wrong. I tried every means to contact you then, and I even did a whois on your (old) website domain and emailed a guy named Mark because the contact form or e-mail address on the site wasn't getting a response. Knowing that you finally know of this incident makes me...
Read moreMe and my fiancé are regulars here. I’m from Chicago so I am a huge foodie. Then there’s the craft beers & drinks they have here are always fun! The food is amazing. I don’t think there is anything on the menu I have ever ordered that I didn’t like. Their wings( both are good but their boneless wings are our favorite) It’s like if Chik-Fil-A had wings and bomb buffalo sauce that is tangy and Spicy . We also love the Philly wrap, burgers & pesto pasta, their mac&cheese too! The food is great.
On to the staff.
Lexi is fun, spunky, and she just lights up the room. Every time we are here or bring friends here - she is always so polite and she knows her regulars which is what really makes a restaurant feel like home. She is usually our bartender/ waitress when we sit in the bar area. But she is just amazing and she will guide you if you have any questions on their drinks or alcohol for sure.
Cory is an amazing waiter too! He is the guy with the orange beard and long hair if you go. Very polite and funny! He will legit guide you if you have any questions on what to get! But he is usually our waiter if we sit in the dining area.
What makes this place even more cool is how they have daily specials. They always have a few specials on food or drink items specifically when you get there but letting kids eat free & 10% off whiskey selections, the kid thing is a big deal for us because we do have three but that just means we can visit more now !! :)
It’s very sweet of the owner to do the kids thing and also that lets us know that one of our fav restaurants are doing well. We absolutely love this place and if I am not mistaking we have been going here For...
Read moreThis was just an amazing dinner. We were in town for just a couple of nights and semi-frantic looking for a place to eat. Most of the places we attempted had no place for us to go sit down and eat. The last failure in that string, my wife (much smarter than I) asked one of the employees where HE would recommend, and he pointed us to Fallon's. We just may have to go find that guy and shake his hand.
The restaurant is easy to find and parking wasn't an issue even on a Friday night. There's a strong prevalent Irish theme to the decor, but it's very welcoming and comfortable. We were seated right away, and our server came over a moment later. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and got us settled right away.
There began a theme that lasted throughout the meal: the entire staff was friendly and helpful... Not just our own server! We had no less than five different employees stop by, clear trash, refill drinks, or check on our orders. That's unheard of in our experience... Usually your server is your only advocate with the staff!
But... The reason I'm willing to write this review... The food. The food was simply amazing. The wife and I each got sliders, but prepared differently, with different sides, and were both simply amazed at the quality. We also split an appetizer that had similar levels of quality.
Amazing experience, reasonable prices, easy to get to, fantastic environment... This place is well worth making a special trip to, if given the opportunity. I hope we get a chance to get...
