MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RESTARUANT !!!!!! We never got any service. I walked into the entrance, only on a recommendation from a business client who likes to recognize local businesses. He thought it would be a fantastic place to hold a breakfast business meeting with 13 of our colleges. We have team meetings every other week at The Orginal Pancake House. I told him I would go by on New Years Day with my family to try it out before summiting this recommendation with our accounting department. I walked in and stood at the door for five minutes. No one and I repeat no one ever said hello, welcome in, will be right with you, nothing. I observed a waitress with coffee serving tables down the line of booths. She made eye contact with me and then looked away and never said a word. The same waitress walked passed me to the left and spoke to everyone on the left sitting down and never said a word. I observed two small empty tables in the middle of the restaurant with no one sitting there. I observed at full staff of people working behind the counter and no one ever said a word. I observed another waitress deliver food to a table one booth away from the front door and I never got acknowledged. What I did notice was a restuarant full of Caucasians and one African American male ( myself) standing at the door and no one ever acknowledge that I was even in the building. I understand it's a private business and they can denie service to anyone they want. I only wish the sign "Whiites Only" would have been clearly written so I wouldn't have even stepped in this place and wasted so much time. I have informed my business client that my office cannot spend any money with any place with such low customer service and a lack hospitality. I will inform our other three locations to put this restaurant on the black list for poor customer service. Hopefully someone reads this rating and does something about this rude experience that I received from the entire staff working in...
Read moreI stopped in Olivette Diner and I was anything but satisfied by the service or the food.
I came in around 11am and it was busy but not overly crowded. There is a young girl who works here that obviously wants to be anywhere else on a Sunday Morning. She banged cups down etc.. and you couldn’t pay her to smile. It took 12 minutes to get a cup of coffee that was burned and another 8 minutes before anyone placed my order. The guys on the grill would be the only reason this restaurant gets one star. The food was actually decent. No complaints. The entire time I was there not a single person asked to refill my coffee or if my food tasted okay. I finally got tired of the lack of service and asked kindly for a check and a box. Another 15 minutes later another patron asked why I hadn’t received my check. After being reminded the server brought it but no box. I paid for my food and was prepared to leave without a complaint but the same server had the nerve to ask, “was everything good?” I said No but I was okay. Another lady interjected asking how they can fix it .. honestly, I didn’t want to get into it. She then berated me to other customers as I walked out.. saying I was complaining. What a humiliating experience? Did I mention I was the only woman of color in the establishment? After Reading several reviews I can see there is pattern of racism at this restaurant. Before I wondered what I did wrong but it’s clear that this restaurant is notorious for mistreating black patrons. They don’t want African American to eat at the establishment. Keep your money, spend it someplace that will appreciate...
Read moreI walked in there today, 06-21-2014, at approximately 12:40PM CDT to grab some carryout lunch for my girlfriend and I. I sit down at the counter and am greeted politely by the waitress who takes my order. She rings me up as order #21 for two Jeffys and a side of fries. I watch as one of the line cooks takes two frozen chicken breasts out, throws one on the grill, and watch as it bounces behind the grill. He then picks it up with the same tongs and proceeds to continue grilling it. Mind you these are frozen full breasts, not filet'd, and will take extra long to grill all the way through. One of the cooks does the normal flip from side to side making sure each side has nice grill marks but completely forgets about the raw ring of chicken around the middle. He picks up a knife, cuts into it, realizes it's raw, places the breast back on the grill, then places the knife back in with the other kitchen utensils. At the end of the order a different line cook comes out, prepares the sandwiches for boxing, and cuts through them with the exact same knife that was used to cut raw chicken and also places that same knife back in with the other...
