I was shocked at our visit last night. My fiancé decided to take me out for my birthday after having a rough week. When we arrived we were greeted by a manager. He sat us immediately and explained that it was online menus and ordering. I ordered a nonalcoholic slushee drink as I’m pregnant and was celebrating so I didn’t mind $5 for a drink. When it arrived it was in a child sized cup and look nothing like the picture. Gummy worms were supposed to be poking out of an over filled glass. I got a small plastic cup with a lid, even though it wasn’t filled. There was one single gummy worm floating on the top of the watered down slushee. Disappointed for sure. We ordered a pretzel (the only good thing about our visit). I ordered the roasted cauliflower (an appetizer) as my main meal. There was an option when ordering it to see if I wanted it as an appetizer or an entree. I selected entree. Well it arrived about 2 minutes after the pretzel and about 20 minutes before my SO’s food. It was practically raw. I had to use a steak knife to cut it. I ate about a third of it & decided the rest wasn’t worth bringing home. When my fiancé’s food finally came out the dude who brought it set it down & left as fast as he could while avoiding eye contact. We sat there & waited for someone to walk by as he needed some ketchup for his burger & fries. I should mention that we haven’t had the same server more than once. A different person has brought each thing out so we don’t even know WHO our server was. Eventually he walked to the server drink area and waited (he had to do the same thing for his drink refill). It was obvious that people were avoiding helping him. Finally he asked the bartender for some ketchup and she rolled her eyes and said she would after she finished all of her drinks. Cool. I get that this isn’t your job to help but literally non of the staff was helping. We didn’t have one single person check on our table the entire meal. She also had a similar reaction when he had to go up and ask for straws 2 different times as neither of us received one and our drinks were dropped off separately. At this point we still didn’t know who our server was. Now I understand why you pay for your food and do the tip at the very beginning. It’s so they already have your money and don’t have to provide any actual service. If I could have I would have gone back and lowered the tip. The $10 we left was certainly not deserved and I regret choosing D&B for my birthday. We went to play some games. We had a $100 visa gift card. We spend $59.85 on food (again I regret this so much) so we should have had $40.15 left on the gift card. We went to load up our player card and decided to do the $40 for 250 “coins”. The lady swiped our card and said it only had $28 and some change on it. So we gave her another card for the last $11 even though we were very confused as our last card should have had enough. After paying I told my SO to check the balance online because it didn’t feel right. He gets online and can see that the card started with $100 and that there was a charge for $59.85 (food) and then a second charge of $40 from Dave and busters. Then he looked up the second card & could see a charge of $11. We immediately went back to show the employee that we were overcharged. She said she could call up a manager if we wanted. We told her we did. $11 isn’t a lot of money but we’ve had horrible food/service so far. Manager cane & we showed him our statements and the money that was taken. He told us that it was probably just a hold on the card and it will drop off in a couple of days. That makes no sense. We had $40.15 left. We showed him where we had $100 and had used $59.85 on food and that the only other charge on the card was the $40. Simple math would show that adds up to $99.85. He wrote down his name and number and told us to call if it wasn’t returned and walked away. I wish I would have asked for a refund and went somewhere else to...
Read moreOur trip today, 6/22/19, was so disappointing. Our kids (6 of them) are ages 2 to 15 and our 11 year old is on crutches, so we were really looking for some high quality family fun that everyone could participate in. Thankfully, the games and prizes delivered for the children. My husband and I were able to enjoy ourselves AFTER the meal, too, but we almost walked out from the moment we entered the restaurant. Here's why: The hostess was super rude. She did not say hi, made no eye contact, was visibly annoyed that there were 8 of us and not the initial 4 she visually assessed, even though she didn't ask me how many, I had to say, "excuse me, there are 8 of us" when I noticed she was trying to walk away with 4 menus. The only thing she said at all was "how many kids menus?" before she turned abruptly and stomped to our table.
We were sat at a large table and the server made my kids shout their orders at him rather than walking around. And he was also visibly annoyed that they had to keep repeating themselves....like, dude, just walk the 4 steps over there.
We splurged on our daughters' drinks and let all 3 of them get this $4+ slushie/gummy worms concoction. After we ordered, the server was snappy about getting the menus back, so while we were all rushing to comply, my 2 year old dumped her slushie all over the table. So, the server makes an irritated sound equivalent to mine and my husband's....again..like, dude, we're guests here, you're not her dad..you don't have rights to audible exasperation sounds over her actions.....Then he goes, "I'll be right back." So I'm thinking, "oh, he'll bring her a little refill with a few worms and a rag to help or something." NEVER.CAME.BACK. 2 different people brought out our food. We cleaned up the sticky slushie mess ourselves with their terrible non-absorbent polyester napkins and her 4 year old sister shared her slushie with her sister. I mean, fine, don't bring a refill for a spilled luxe drink, but at least come back to take care of the sticky!!
The food. Yuck. The pictures can speak for themselves. We ordered chicken cantina nachos. The menu picture is the second photo shared here and the delivered goods are the first. They were topped with this weird brown stuff that we think was maybe steak they accidentally added, but still have no real idea. There was a total of 3.5 jalepenos on the whole thing and maybe a tablespoon of an almost kind of pico de Gallo mix. The kids meals were average.
The server tracked my husband down in the game area to pay the bill. I can give some grace for this being a practical defense against people skipping out, but really, if youre that worried about it use some common sense and keep track of when it looks like we might be ready to finish up eating and catch us before we're half way through our game time. It's so rude and we have 4 kids that need direct to nearly direct supervision.
I would be hard pressed to return to Dave and Buster's again. It was supposed to be a fun treat for everyone. I will say our family made the best of it, and as I said, the games were great. The lady that did our prize check out for my daughters was nice and sweet to them. But I am pretty grossed out by the food and offended by the inhospitable...
Read more7/31/22: This was an incredibly disappointing visit. When I first walk in the hostess did not seem very enthusiastic. The waiter we had was very very nice and tried very hard. However, the blended milkshake was not available because the blender doesn't work. The fish and chips were not available because they were out. I found out the night before most of the menu items were unavailable. So we basically asked what was still available. The waiter gave us good recommendations and apologized. I wanted to load my cards. So I asked the hostess for the Guest wi-fi to download the app since, for some reason, my phone, though having bars, wouldn't receive data. She tells me that it isn't for customers. So I asked someone else, and they gave me the password. The Hawaiian Chicken was about the only thing that tasted pretty good. The flatbread pepperoni was what you'd expect from kid's kind of pizza place. It wasn't bad but also wasn't amazing. Disappointed in the ribeye. Seasoning was like someone didn't know how to cook and dumped what they had on the shelf on it. I get rare steaks. So it doesn't take much to make it right. Then when I went to the car to put the left over food up so we could play games, the right rear window was broken out and just a fanny pack was stolen from the back seat. I walked back in and asked the manager if they had security cameras outside. He said that Dave & Buster's does not; however, he gave me the email address of the property owner because the parking lot or that area is private property. The police didn't come by but gave us a police report. Then someone in a gray Ford Escort drives by, parks in the fire lane, and starts using the F-word towards our direction in front of our 9 year old. She starts crying and being upset. We get home, and she can't understand why someone would do that. She can't sleep. Overall, I would not recommend this location. Perhaps the area is not a great area, or there was a series of unfortunate events. Whatever the case, out of living in Georgia, Philly, NYC, Connecticut, NOLA, Colorado, St. Louis, and now Omaha this is the first time I've ever had a car broken into. The icing is the way everyone was so incredibly 'nice.' Oh. Did I mention that there's a car seat in the back seat of the car right where the...
