Don & Millie's — Restaurant in Omaha

Tonight Jan 16, 2019 we at Don & Millies, there was some sort of gathering with families with kids. There was at least 20 kids give or take because they were scattered throughout the restaurant. The noise was extremely loud that my spouse and I couldn't even talk to each other. What was really appalling was when the kids started throwing food in the area they were sitting in and it went on for about 10 minutes before one of the parents put a stop to it. then they started running around playing tag.

I looked around at some of the others that were in our area you could tell they weren't pleased either.

From past experience it takes a customer to complain to a manger to step in. Which I find wrong. A manager should be given the power and authority to put a stop to things like that. No I didn't complain to a manager, my husband I and ended up packing up our meal and leaving.

We have been to this location before with no issues like this. But if this would have been my first time in the restaurant I would not come back.

It was the most horrible dining experience we ever had. Oh and as we were walking out, I was telling people as they were walking in that there are some brats in there and that they might want to go elsewhere. Several people turned around and left.

The next time I see the place is full of kids we will leave and go elsewhere.

And for those that want to have some sort of gathering go some place that has a party room so your kids don't bother other diners.

My suggestion for Don & Millies when some wants to have some sort of gather block off that side of the restaurant and tell them that they stay on that side as not to bother other guests and if they don't do that then they should be asked to leave. Since my husband and I didn't know it was some sort of function. If we did we would have taken our food to go as there was no seating on the other side when we go there.

The two stars was for the lack of management...

Don and Millies, it’s right up there with nostalgic restaurants for me. I’ve been going, well forever. The red booths and red and white checkered paper evokes warm feelings. However; the last two times I’ve visited - left lots to be desired.

I always try to give places another chance, but sometimes it seems that things are the new norm? Could I have come on two off days? Quite possibly, but let me divulge into my latest experience.

The staff was very friendly, no issues. But the food . . . Oh, the food. . .

The cheese frenchees? The worst. Imagine. Frying something in rancid oil, eating it, and just tasting bitterness after it. That’s how these tasted. Awful. Awful. Awful. Nothing could save them, nor get the taste out of my mouth.

My cheeseburger, though juicy. Had a very hard bun that tasted stale. It crunched in the bad way when I bit into it. I couldn’t eat it. I took it off. It ruined the burger. And guess what, that happened last time too. But this bun was way worse this time.

The fries? Decent.

The shake. Meh.

The best part?! The cookie. It was fresh.

My friend enjoyed their chicken tenders.

Overall, I felt like it was a waste of money. In a world where money is sacred, I definitely regret this purchase. Again. I’ve learned my lesson though. Nostalgia always gets...

This was by far the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Ordered the Double Don one with mayo and one without. There was very little mayo on the one sandwich and there was nothing on the other sandwich, no ketchup, no mustard nothing. The burgers were completely over cooked like they had been cooked hours earlier before we ordered them and salty, OMG, I have never had a cheeseburger where all I tasted was salt, there was no other flavors at all. The french fries were warm at best and once again so salty that is all you tasted. I asked for lots of ketchup when I received my order through the drive thru line and I got 4 very small packets. I do not call that allot of ketchup when ordering two cheeseburgers that do not have any ketchup on them, an order of fries and onion rings.
