As an avid customer of the Lighthouse, I think I’ve finally reached by breaking point and will be taking a break from there for a while. Although the food is amazing, as is the bartender Tiffany, the rest leaves a lot to be desired! After visiting today, I can honestly say I feel the staff needs some help on their customer service skills.
After walking in and the place was moderately busy, we finally got a bartender to come to our table to ask for our drink order after about five minutes of being there. She was semi friendly and the timing seemed reasonable. We ordered some wings and all was good.
As the night went on and the place got less busy the service went downhill from there. First we had to hunt down a bartender for a drink when a third friend joined us. Next we had to hunt down someone again to place a food order for the remaining people who hadn’t yet ate. Then after three different people placing an order for tacos (the special for the night so shouldn’t take long to prepare) we continue to sit and wait for our tacos for a good 30 minutes. All while the “food is ready” light being on. During this time one bartender was running her tail off taking orders, etc, while the other bartender stood there counting the tip jar. Finally after the light was noticed the food gets delivered to our table. Keep in mind three people ordered and all tacos came out on one plate. After getting our food, we asked for some silverware (we had sour cream to spread on our tacos) to which we were told it’s all in the dishwasher??!?!? Seriously how do you run a food establishment and ALL the silverware is dirty!?!? So miraculously the bartender (who was standing around counting her tips while our food was ready) comes back to the table and found one set of silverware for the three of us to share. Yes this was quite the surprise to us. One set for three people to share! Thank goodness we only had tacos and not a taco salad or something where we all needed forks.
Next comes time to leave. We ask one bartender twice for our tab and the other bartender once. Finally we get our tabs printed and brought to our table. Originally we had asked for separate tabs. One came on their own, while the other people’s came all together. We proceed to give two cards to split the joint tab with. After about five minutes, the bartender comes back and says that’s not allowed (although we’ve done this multiple times while there and splitting tabs and payment types). I proceed to ask if I give her cash if she can run the rest of a tab on a card to which she says she can. Watching the bartender she gets on the phone calling the owner to ask how to split our bill. I watch her dig in her tip jar to retrieve cash for the remainder of our bill that was to go on the card. She comes back to the table and gives us the card back and tells us we are good that the card wasn’t needed. I said please explain how that can be and she just said all is good and walked away. My guess is the owner told her to make the drawer right from her tip jar which would upset me as well.
All in all, I can say it’s time to take a break from the Lighthouse. Although the food is worth it, there isn’t much more worth going there for. The owner needs to figure out a better system for utilizing the short amount of staff that is on (perhaps one person running the bar customers and pouring drinks, while the other waits on the rest of the place taking orders, etc). Also perhaps some training in running the cash register and splitting tabs may be a good idea so the waitress doesn’t have to use her tip money to pay our bill.
Such a bad experience!! I never write reviews, but tonight was just over the top on...
Read moreThis is the WORST place we have EVER been to. The staff was extremely rude, and the owner Georgie was even worse.
The server completely forgot our food. We sat there for an hour and she admitted she forgot to put our food in the computer. We then asked the server for a side of sauce and they said “we are not allowed to give out wing sauce.”We asked the servers to put the football game on the TV and they said “you need to give me a minute. Actually.. That game isn’t even on anymore.” The game was definitely on., we had to sit there for 2 hours and watch the game on our cell phone.
We paid on the QR code that was provided on the receipt and looked at our bank account and $98 was pulled out of our account,
The server then ran up to our table and yelled that we didn’t pay. We told her that we paid and showed her our bank transaction receipt which said Lighthouse Bar & Grille. They insisted that the payment didn’t go through on their end. We said “it went through our bank account and we can’t afford to pay twice,” They called the owner & he was the rudest person in the entire world. He laughed in our face and said “I’m not paying for you so you’re gonna pay again and call your bank.” He would not give us his full name until we asked twice, The servers were so rude and caused a scene in the bar acting as if we didn’t pay.
We paid in full twice and left. We will NEVER . EVER , return here and I am so disappointed that we wasted our night here.
I advise EVERYBODY to stay so far away from this place. Horrible customer service. The worst I’ve ever experienced. The owner also didn’t care at all that his servers forgot our food and were rude.
If I could leave 10 thumbs...
Read moreHorrible experience and this is not the first time this has happened at this location. I ordered take out and was told 35 minutes for it to be done. We went to pick it up at 35 minutes and were ignored. We ordered a drink, now the wait was an hour. Still no food! Asked the waitress was told they were working on it. Another 40 minutes now it’s been almost 2 hour wait and still no food. I had people at my house waiting for food and kids were hungry. We went out to the car to wait and I called to see how much longer and was hung up on by the girl at the bar. I then went back into the restaurant to be ignored! I asked for my refund because now we’re talking over 2 hours wait! I was told there was no manager or anything they could do. Finally I got my food and it was cold like it had been sitting there for at least an hour. I waited a few days to contact the manager and was told that he isn’t available and I was to email him. I asked for his email and they said they don’t have it! I don’t recommend this place anymore. We used to place a take out at least every 2 weeks for the past 2 years but the service has gone way down and the staff is horrible and no customer service skills what so ever! More training or something...
