We always try to find new local restaurants when going anywhere. Based on other reviews this was a place I saved to try at some point. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. There were a few groups playing darts and a few sitting at the bar. We were instantly greeted by the bartender and told we can sit where we want. This place was much bigger than I anticipated, VERY CLEAN, and super relaxed feeling. The bartender quickly brought menus and told us about daily specials and took our drink order. Gave us a few mins to look at menu, when I asked about what all came on nachos, he was so fun and friendly and said he wasn't totally for sure but that had check real quick. I told him that was I fine and we ordered a small basket of rings, order of beef nachos, boned wings, water, and a dr pepper. My husband and I like to do the silly date thing and try appetizers which we never can eat the full amounts but it's just fun to have the variety.
First, this bartender was GREAT. Full of smiles, friendly, and obviously loved his job because he really gives off that "I'm here to make you happy" vibe. He told us that he was new so he felt so bad that he was slightly unsure about what was on the nachos. I was impressed. Because he was so super nice and totally the kind of server I'd want at any restaurant. The food came out fairly quickly. AMAZING!!!!! Being that this is a local bar and grill, you never quite know if your going to be satisfied.
WHOA! The food was hot and presented very neatly without big gobs of grease under the rings or wings. The lettuce/tomato on the nachos looked super fresh. Even the celery with the wings looked fresh and yummy. The wings were cooked perfect. The nachos were loaded with toppings, as well as the chips being homemade. The rings were my fave type, smaller in size. The food was perfect, not a single upset about it.
Our bartender was the best, the.place was so clean, and even the bathrooms amazed me as they were very clean and more than what I'd typically see at a similar place.
Here's the crazy part....all of the food and a dr pepper for around $25. That may seem normal, but the nachos could of fed like 10 people, and the service was great. We will...
Read moreWe have been to OB off 144th and Center before, but now days it seems like you have less people working for an honest dollar and those that do are run ragged by others who are unkind or simply don't care to understand just how hard it is to work in the service industry. So I thought I would take a moment and share my experience last night. I called OB, to give them a heads up a large group of us were coming in last night, the service and food were absolutely amazing! I had spoken with Sherry (the owner), she was concerned that they wouldn't have the staff to accommodate us. Sherry made a point to call me back to confirm that everything was coordinated as far as staff, food and space that we could use to all be together. I pre-ordered some appetizers to come out at specific times and a cheese party pizza. What I ordered is just your basic bar and grill food, however I saw other food coming out of the kitchen that I will be going back to try. So many options. The food Mozzarella Sticks (perfectly cooked), Onion Rings (seasoned deliciously), we ordered a large shredded chicken nacho that was huge and had so many flavors going on. The Soft Pretzels with a spicy cheese dip (I would dip about anything in that cheese dip, it was soooo good) then the cheese pizza. It was crispy but not burnt, perfectly portioned sauce, cheese ratio. Everything was sent out right when I had asked and fresh. Whoever was cooking last night, excellent job. Jackie was our server, she was exceptional! Not only was she working our group she was helping other patrons as well. Jackie is an absolute rock star, she could be across the room and notice a drink near empty or someone looking around and she was right there checking on us. They have a great variety of food and drink and a great crew working the floor and behind the scenes. 100% go in and check them out. As always remember to be kind and try...
Read moreWe visited this place (which we loved for game days etc, and unfortunately had a terrible experience a few times within the last year but specifically tonight). Our group of 7 visited on a Friday evening (celebrating some Veterans Day moments). Our group purchased pitchers, single beers, shots, mixed drinks and also played darts, keno and golden tee. Around 12:15am, a bartender with very red hair was incredibly rude. She basically wanted to kick us out at approx 12:15 (we do have video of this encounter). We left approx 12:15am. We will share the video if necessary but we do hope management will address this. I will happily provide video evidence of the horrendous service if...
