I'm not really one who leaves bad reviews, but... probably not coming back anytime soon.
First of all, I get that a restaurant like this is going to be busy on a Friday. But, after I was seated, it took 10 minutes for a server to come get our drink order. Ten minutes later, she returned with one of our drinks, but said they were out of Miller Lite (on a Friday). So, a Bud Light was ordered instead. Ten more minutes later, the new beer was brought over. There for 30 minutes, and no opportunity to order food.
The server apologized and said the bar and kitchen were "way behind." So, we order food: a specialty pizza and a hamburger with cheese......Thirty minutes later, a different server brings out the pizza. A couple of minutes later, our original server comes by and sees the hamburger had not come out. She said she would go check on it. Ten minutes later, some completely different dish is brought to our table. Told him it wasn't ours, and I was waiting on a hamburger.
Ten minutes later, our original server came over, apologized, and said my order had been "lost," and they were rushing through my order (btw, "rushing through" is not something you want to hear about the $17 hamburger you ordered 50 minutes prior). The hamburger finally came a few minutes later. It was fine. I've been to places where I would gladly wait 50 minutes for a hamburger...this wasn't one of those. Also, when my order did come, the wrong side dish came with it.
The two people who were seated next to us (nice people from out of town) were seated AFTER us, got their drinks, food, and check, before the pizza made it to our table.
The manager's remedy for this situation? My beer was free (the one I ordered 90 minutes before).
I get it. It's a popular place. Lots of people want to go there. They obviously won't miss my business. But this was a horrible experience. I'm glad we weren't in a hurry. The times I listed above are not exaggerations, either (seated at 7:25, ordered food at 8:00, hamburger at 8:50)
I certainly hope my experience was an exception, rather than the rule. Otherwise, you need to enjoy this place while it's still there......if you have the...
Read moreWe've dined at Pitch (both West & Dundee) a few dozen times and usually have a great experience. Yesterday, a group of 5 of us had brunch outside at Pitch West for our friend's bday. Everyone's food arrived at VERY different times (the time difference between the first food to arrive and the last was about a half hour). We go out to eat together so we can all eat TOGETHER. It's awkward when you get your food & not everyone has theirs. The last food to arrive was the birthday girl's & it was avocado toast. We teased wondering if they had to go to the store to get the avocados to make the toast, (knowing that they actually must have forgot the order). The manager came to our table and explained that Pitch does not have heat lamps and he isn't sure why our waitress didn't tell us that (which all of us thought was tacky....Nice, blame your waitress. Plus, how weird would that have been for our waitress to tell us all that when we sat down? "Yeah....uh, we don't have heat lamps...so good luck eating together!"). Then the manager proceeded to tell us that he brought everyone's food & it all arrived within 5 minutes of each other. Ummmm, nope, not true, a random guy brought out the birthday girl's avocado toast and it was definitely a half hour later. Two of us had actually finished eating by the time her food arrived. All of us looked at him like he was crazy. He offered no apologizes, just excuses and lies, which is the reason for my 2 star review. I asked him to comp the birthday girl's avocado toast (just appease us, ok?). He goes, "How about a free drink instead?" Whatever. But again, so weird, why not just make a table of us gals happy and comp the meal....? This manager was just a total turnoff. All of us were disappointed because we actually really liked Pitch before this and went frequently with our husbands and families, but this interaction turned all of us way off. There's too many other amazing dining options in Omaha that have heat lamps and offer group (not random) dining for any of us to...
Read moreI've been craving a pizza for a really long time and after hearing about the reviews of this place for my fiance, we had to try it out.
Food was good, but the service was not the best.
My fiance first asked for the classic mimosa which was all good.
We ordered the Brussels Sprouts appetizer, salads each and a pizza to share.
The Brussels sprouts never came to the table. We got both the salads and they were both good, but they added something extra to my salad and I have no idea what that was. I asked for the Chop Salad with chicken, no tomatoes (extra mixed greens) and balsamic vinaigrette instead. Everything was good and that flatbread on top was amazing as well. I'm not sure what that extra thing was that they added but it went with everything. I love the artichokes on there because it added extra veggies and a lot of texture. Everything was in good amount - and quite a big serving size - and I really really enjoyed this salad!
Fiance got the Thai Chicken Salad with chicken and he loved it. It was a very different flavor from mine but good of its own. He left it as well and finished it super quick!
For the pizza, we asked for a custom one which was kind of inspired by the Bianco Verde. Ricotta cream, fresh mozzarella, red onion, arugula, parmesan, Pepperonata. First they forgot to put the arugula on there. The server also said she would get us chili flakes on the side but those never came until we asked for them 5 minutes later. Fiance really really love the pizza but I did not. It was because of the Pepperonata. It tasted like tomatoes and red peppers on the pizza and I'm not a fan of that. I tried to take them all off but they were too many so I ended up having only bits which didn't have the Pepperonata on it.
Overall a good place for good pizza though...
