This is the 3rd time we have dined in at Saltgrass. Our first 2 experiences at Saltgrass were much better than our recent visit - which is the only reason I gave 2 stars, otherwise would have given 1 star! I will start with the positives: our waitress was wonderful! Extremely kind and great with my kids. Second, the kids all seemed to throughly enjoy their food. 2 of them got the cheese pizzas and my other got the chicken tenders. The only thing about the kids pizzas, is that they were small and did not come with a side. So the kids seemed still hungry after the pizza. They ate off our plates after to get full (ages 6 & 8). If the pizzas came with a side, then this would be much better and enough food for them. The last positive was my food (the sirloin steak and fried shrimp) was great! My kids that were still hungry also loved the shrimp! The salad was also great! The negatives: my dad's filet looked way overcooked, and he mentioned it was not hot and felt like it had been sitting around awhile when it arrived at the table. He said it did not taste very good and it did not look good either - dried out/over cooked. He ordered his medium although it looked way more done than mine (which I ordered medium/well). The most unbelievable part to follow.. Our reservation was at 5:30- we ordered around 5:45 - 5:50. (We had to wait for them to get us a different table upon arrival as they had only set us at a table with room for 6, our reservation was made for 7). We started to wonder if they forgot our order/food, as it still hadn't come to the table by 6:45. Just as we were about to ask about our food, it came out about 6:50pm - but my mom's meal was missing! They came over to her as they brought our food and said that they "just" ran out of pasta so they couldn't make her meal! How would they not have informed her an hour prior, when she ordered it! How did they only discover that they didn't have the ingredients to make her food, after they brought the rest?! Shouldn't they have started the order when we ordered, and figured it out then! You don't wait over an hour after someone orders and bring everyone else's food before telling them you don't have the ingredients. When they asked what she would want instead she said whatever is fast, maybe salmon or whatever can come quick - as everyone else already got food and we had ordered over an hour ago at this point! They said manager would be out to talk to her shortly. At least 10 more minutes went by then manager came saying that maybe the pasta was on the way to restaurant and if she wanted to wait. She said again that she just wanted whatever was fast and would be the quickest! So they ended up making her salmon & it did not come quick. The manager also said that they were very sorry about this and that they wouldn't charge her for the pasta. Really?!?! - we'll that sounds fair since she never got the pasta! He also said they wouldn't charge her for the salmon... again really? I would have walked out if they had they tried to charge her for salmon that she got 1 and half hours after getting to restaurant and it wasn't even what she had originally ordered! What a joke! They should have at minimum taken half off the entire bill! We liked this place before, but sad to say that we will not be back! Terrible experience! Manager did nothing to make this right! Again, this was not the waitress (she was great!) But management needs to own their mistake here and they did not. I never leave bad reviews, but this was incredibly unbelievable! Again, 1 star for this manager and this experience! But thanks for not charging her for the food she didn't get! Will never...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at Salt Grass with our two toddlers on a last-minute decision today, and let me tell you, we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience! Despite a few minor dislikes with our food, the overall evening was fantastic, largely thanks to our incredible server, Jason.
From the moment we sat down, Jason was prompt and attentive, quickly bringing us our ordered food and beverages. My husband kicked off the evening with a beer while I treated myself to a raspberry Moscow mule—seriously one of the best I've had in ages! We started with the queso fresco topped with brisket as an appetizer, and it was a hit! Our two-year-old devoured half of it!
For my main course, I ordered the 6 oz filet cooked medium with shrimp, a Caesar salad, and a side of mashed potatoes. The filet was cooked to perfection—so flavorful that I didn't even reach for A1. The mashed potatoes were ample and delicious, though I wasn't a huge fan of the Caesar salad dressing. My husband enjoyed the brisket burger (which he ranked as one of the top 3 burgers he’s ever had) with broccoli, although the broccoli lacked a bit of flavor. Our girls both opted for the kids' ribs with fries and, surprisingly, ate more than we've seen them eat in a while! They loved their kids' sundaes, declaring Salt Grass one of their favorite restaurants.
I also couldn't resist indulging in a slice of cheesecake after much debate between that and the chocolate cake. I can confidently say it was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever tasted! I shared a bite with my 5-year-old, and her eyes lit up—it was a hit! The fresh strawberries and delicious sauces on the plate were the icing on the cake.
Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing! We appreciated the fair prices, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the lovely decor and vibe. Jason was a fantastic server, and we even had the manager stop by to offer us a free appetizer card for our next visit. We can’t wait to return! I’m still torn about whether to try the chocolate cake or stick with the cheesecake next time… it was just that good! Highly recommend Salt Grass for a family-friendly...
Read moreIf you only try one thing make sure it's the Queso Fresco with Brisket. I wish I would have asked for extra brisket... YUM!
The server Nicole was one of the friendliest people I've met. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance.
Let me start by raving about the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Wow, the flavor was BOLD and absolutely amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, with just the right amount of heat to give it a kick. The smoked mac and cheese was the perfect side dish to complete the meal. It was simply amazing! Creamy, cheesy, and with a hint of smoky flavor.
But that's not all, the steak was delicious. Open flame grilled to perfection, it was tender and juicy with a mouthwatering flavor that left me wanting more. I couldn't resist trying the classic Caesar salad and it did not disappoint. Served in a chilled bowl, it was the perfect complement to the steak and chicken.
It may seem like a small detail, but the bread was warm and freshly baked, and the butter was creamy and flavorful. It was some of the best bread and butter I've had in a long time. To wash down all of the delicious food, I tried the hand-mixed raspberry and peach tea, and it was simply refreshing. It was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and was a delightful addition to the meal.
My favorite item was the Queso Fresco with Brisket. If I would have known it was going to be that good I would have had 2 orders of it with extra brisket. If you only eat one thing from Saltgrass make it this one.
Our server, Nicole, was extremely nice and attentive. She took care of everything in a timely manner and made sure that our dining experience was top-notch.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about Saltgrass Steakhouse. From the amazing food to the exceptional service and cozy ambiance, it was a dining experience that I won't soon forget. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by and give it a try. You won't be...
