Be careful if youâre vegan and do not order take out!!!! The food is good but the service is only good if youâre in person. Otherwise, you get what you get. They only care about those on the floor. And they will give takeout the scraps!
Edit: Iâm less angry now so I can elaborate. The vegan food here is tremendous! Perfect⌠every time. And dining in, although potentially a bit of a wait, is still a lovely experience. The place is cool and itâs fun to name the celebrities on the walls. Itâs pretty clear the owners and chef are proud, and they should be! ExceptâŚ
Ordered a vegan standard for takeout. Not the first time. Asked for a strawberry jam, which they were out of, again (also not the first time itâs been out when I order takeout but not a big deal) asked for blackberry instead. When I check the bag in the car there was a container with, literally (I actually mean literally, not joking) a dab, about an 1/8 of a teaspoon of blackberry jam lining the bottom of the to go container. It was ridiculous. Seriously. How do send that out?!?! Asked my husband to go back in for an actual serving or at least half a serving so I would have something at least. They told him that they needed what they had left of the blackberry jam for their customers on the floor and gave him a lemon curd⌠To go with a VEGAN meal.
This felt like culinary sarcasm!!!! Complain about only getting a tiny amount, well now Iâll give you a lot of something YOU CANâT EAT AT ALL!!!!
Lemon curd is almost all eggs. Iâm not vegan because I want to be. If I didnât know, eating that would have made me sick for two days. So not even mentioning that itâs not a jam but essentially a sweet lemony egg spread as you give it to someone who ordered a VEGAN standard isâŚ!!!!
I went in cause I was angry. Spoke to the manager and all she had to say was that it was all they had left of the jam because the rest was in containers for the floor (Then say youâre out! And that you donât know how to manage the front of the house so that youâre stocked with the basics) and sorry in that sorry not sorry style.
Itâs jam, and generally not a big deal at all. I wasnât angry because I didnât have jam, or anything else as I had to leave having been given absolutely nothing to replace it nor asked if there was anything they could do to fix it. Gotta love dry hard toast.
I was angry because the managerâs response to a management problem was food to get me sick and a fake smile!
She may be a cool person in real life, but that was a horrible interaction!!! Saying that they needed what they had for customers after taking my money??? I was a costumer too!!!! And giving me something that could get me sick is just hostile!
Anyway, moral of the story: donât get takeout, be careful if youâre vegan, and if you have a problem, donât expect it to be fixed. You get what you get⌠âsoooo sorryâ she said.

Read more2025 Edit: My first time at the new location. I had taken the day off for my birthday and was able to get a table with no wait on a Monday at about noon. There's some slight changes to the menu since my last time here and some new items that look interesting.
I had a short rib Benedict with a little jalapeĂąo jam in between the meat and the English muffin all covered in hollandaise. This was perfectly made, and a side of hash browns with it was golden to perfection. Along with that I had the peanut butter banana pancakes... well, pancake now as they've ditched the multilevel approach here and now serve it as one big sewer lid pancake. I like this approach better than multiple pancakes stacked as it increases the syrup to pancake ratio and makes each bite less... cakey.
One thing of note, not being from here originally, it seems like a lot of older folks in Omaha like to just go to eat breakfast and then sit at that table after eating for the next few hours chatting with each other. From the time I got there to the time I left most other tables had already finished eating before I came in and were still sitting there when I left. This is really kind of inconsiderate to staff and other people who may want to eat there. Eat your meal and go gab at home or go to the park. Take a walk around the block or something.
An easy pick for one of the best brunch places in the city. They do pretty much everything with a high degree of quality. I also really like that they have some locally made hot sauce options from a place in Bellevue. When you get coffee here they bring you actual chilled half and half for it; it's a small thing but too many places use those room temperature/no-expiration-possible...
Read moreSaddle Creek Breakfast Club is a small, hip breakfast and brunch spot in Omaha, Nebraska. The menu features a mix of classic and creative breakfast dishes, all made with fresh, local ingredients.
We recently visited SCBC and had a great experience. We started with the Saddle Creek Standard, which is two eggs cooked to your liking, crispy hash browns, and your choice of breakfast meat. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the breakfast sausage patty was juicy and flavorful.
We also ordered the Dos Salsas de Maria, which is an open faeburrito filled with over easy eggs, avocado, rice, cheese, and two salsas. The burrito shell was homemade and delicious. The salsas added a nice kick of flavor but I also amped it up with some ghost pepper hot sauce from Volcanic Peppers.
The ambience at SCBC is casual and relaxed. The restaurant is decorated in a vintage style, and there's a small patio out front that's perfect for people-watching. The music is also on point, with a mix of classic rock and indie tunes.
The service at SCBC was wonderful. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she made sure that we had everything we needed. We also appreciate that they offer gluten-free and vegan options on the menu.
Overall, we had a great experience at Saddle Creek Breakfast Club. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect, and the service was wonderful. We can't wait to go back!
Make sure to get here early because...
