I stopped by today with a friend to do homework when we walked in we instantly felt the vibes were off due to both the employees seeing us come in and proceeded to ignore us for at least 5 minutes it felt like forever considering that the shop was empty and there wasnāt anyone in the drive thru just facing their back to us after seeing us come inā¦.like waiting for us to leave and talking amongst each other. One of them finally came and in a very monotone and clearly annoyed by our presence expression took our order. We both ordered the same drink in a small size but when we received our drinks they were very lacking in filling of both the drink and whip cream. Almost like they only made one drink and split it between the cups⦠I get that baristas would do that for convenience but at least add more product or milk to make it look like you tried? If you donāt like your job you can always find another one but donāt take it out on the customers.. I love scooters itself but they should take more time to reevaluate who they are hiring to serve their customers and taming their reputation.
Update: The manager Amber McMichael reached out to me. Right off the bat she acted very defensive when she asked me for and received my follow up feedback on my visit. She was lecturing me on how to be a customer and that thereās always two sides to the story. She said āI already spoke to your friend as well and let her know thereās two sides to the storyā she then asked me what did I expect to receive from the review. I told her āI just wanted to share my experience at that location for future customers as someone who consistently visits cafes to do homework and eat I like to always look at reviews beforehand for an idea of the environment. She said āOh so you just wanted to rantā she continued to make very passive aggressive comments until I got frustrated and told her I donāt understand what the purpose of this call was if she was just gonna lecture me and rant about how there can be issues at work etc and that with her hostile personality I could see why her employees treat their customers the same way. She then said āWOAH that was very aggressive of you Iām going to have to fill out a form to ban you from this location and while Iām at it I will also attach a police report as there was footage of you and your friend stealing stuff from the pastry glass. Iām gonna ask you to never come back to this locationā. Before I even had a chance to address the stealing accusation she hung up. I didnāt call back to that location because there is no use on speaking to someone who is driven by emotions and no customer service skills. I plan to follow up and address her defamation of character comment falsely accusing me of stealing and police report threat as that is not a statement to take lightly. I really hope they have their phone conversations recorded and camera footages. I 100% would never steal anything so Iām very offended to have been told this by the MANAGER over a REVIEW which I am allowed to make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's been years since I've been to this Scooters. It has changed. The service then was great, the atmosphere conducive to people who wanted some quiet time and/or people who wanted to socialize. Not anymore. Everything seems to have been amplified toward an extroverted cliental...this location only.
Taylor Dane and George Michael were blaring over the sound system where it once was...a kinder gentler music...Nora Jones...10000 Maniacs. I realize that dates me, but I came to a coffee shop, not a dance club. This combined with no effort to break up the volume that now echos from the clanging and cleaning from the bar. My headphones are not enough to block out the noise.
There are atleast 5 people on staff and the place is 80% empty. There's no line at the drive through to support the overhead. Maybe it's training day. It's a mess of young kids who turn twice to ask, "do we give free refills on hot water for tea?". Charge me a quarter...I don't care.
I didn't come for smoothies nor coffee. I'll have tea, Earl Grey...hot. I'm instructed to grab my own tea bags (no tip) and am given a paper cup of hot water. Honestly. Allow me, to hand you my selection where in turn you place the tea bags in the cup BEFORE pouring in hot water. Show some respect and notion of tea ceremony.
My entire plan to sit down for a very long day of tea, bookwork, and writing is out the door as soon as I'm finished here. This is not a place for the creative introvert. I'm sure the quality of product is still as good as ever. I will never know, because I will stick to my Scooters on 48th & McKinley. There...size, service, quality, and atmosphere are what a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!!!There were 4 Baristas on Duty and NONE of them knew what they were doing! I ordered 2 drinks- Carmelicious- fat free-no caramel DrizzleĀ or whip cream, and make with only one pump of caramel not full 4. When I received the drink, it had whip cream, caramelĀ sauce and it was extremely sweet. As I drove away, I was not okay with the drink, so I pulled back up and asked the Barista that it was wrong and if they could fix it. I had the Drinks I was going to return for replacement. They did not take the drink and I understand their policy but they refused to remake it and did not want to issue a refund! All I wanted was to make the drink right. The Baristas had so much attitude and said that that was what I ordered. I had 3 people in the car, I know what I ordered and i was very specific about it. She was concerned about the inventory but that is not my problem, It is theirs for making it wrong the first time! She called the manager and the manager refused to fix it as well as the Owner. I waited at the window for about 1.5 hours and They refused to give me a refund or remake the drink. The barista was told by the owner to call the police so I waited for them to arrive because she said they were on their way so I waitedĀ for their arrival. The police did not file a report but I didĀ against that location. This is very disturbing to deal with for anyone over a small drink but they should not have to treat anyone that badly. There are better coffee shops out here, This one is the...
