Order at counter and have a seat restaurant..
I sometimes like these, but many times don't.
The entire Vibe of this place has a striking resemblance to that of lansky's
The bathroom could use a once-over but they are very much understaffed, I will say that I like the fact that I can push the door open with my shoulder instead of having to pull a handle and getting my hands dirty after I just wash them.
Appetizers
Cambo bread A pizza on a slice of bread, I like it.. Good flavor
Homemade cheese bread Buttery garlic cheesy goodness...
meatball chunks with pamarola Huge, a meal by itself, very generous portion, large chunks of meatballs. Me and my wife differ on opinions here, I love the taste, she does not.. at all.... It is very, seasoned, I am a fan...
White bread and minestrone soup. The bread is cooked right, crispy shell, soft center, soup is very flavorful, very nice..
My kingdom for a plate.... If I can make one suggestion, bring out a couple of small plates with the appetizers...
Entrees..
Pizza "prime"..... The good, excellent flavor, I mean, delicious.. The bad, it's is a bit to soggy...
Shrimp scampi...... Dry, this makes me so sad, the flavor is good, but the shrimp and pasta are entirely over done.. Perhaps turn the oven down???
Baked creamy chicken Alfredo....... Flavor to me is good, wife does not agree.. The chicken is shaved...... Why?...
Final thoughts... It's a decent place that reminds me of lanskys, but sadly, not as good.. This place could be far better with some small changes to improve the quality of food..
One disappointment I see at 90% of "italian" restaurants, where is the authentic carbonara? Those that do offer it, where is the guanciale??
I must mention the staff, y'all are great, super friendly, knowledgeable, you are the star...
Read moreMillard location. Some of their food is great but way too often the pasta has nearly zero sauce. It’s very frustrating to get that and try to eat it since it’s just noodles with a little flavor splashed on it. Their order-taker or cook often get the orders wrong. And they expect you to go back and get the food that they didn’t include in the order without so much as an “We apologize…”.
At this point we have called them so many times with food missing, wrong food, and noodles with barely any sauce. Tonight I ordered two different dishes, two soups and rolls and guess what? They gave us ONE of the two meals that we ordered. My husband even asked where the other one was and cashier told him that was all I ordered. WRONG. I very clearly ordered two separate dishes and she knew it.
I called them, I was not offered an apology. Just that they could make the missing dish and then we could drive back over to get it. Like I said, no apology. Just “too bad, so sad.”
I believe the “mistake” in my order was done intentionally this evening. The girl hung up on me when she saw the caller ID. . Very childish.
So we shared spaghetti and meatballs with a very low amount of sauce. The sauce and the meatballs tasted good on the places that there was sauce. And we are still hungry but not hungry enough for us to get back in the car and go get another dish from this place after teaching an 11 hour day.
We’ve given them at least 6 second-chances but never again will we order from there. To think that we almost chose them to make the food for my daughter’s wedding?...
Read moreTried to give this place a try again. Still very underwhelming. Last time I tried the chicken parm.... the chicken was not crusted, just sliced up chicken on pasta no cheese melted on top and red sauce very acidic tasting like it was tomato paste thinned out with no seasoning. Tonight thought I'd try lasagna. Before ordering I asked the employee at the counter if you used full sheets of lasagna making the dish, she said yes. I thought ok, great. Got the dish, no meat in it as described on the menu, no cheese, purely just the sheets broken into pieces probably about 8-10 chunks drenched in the same acidic unseasoned sauce with no cheese in the dish to be found. Last time I checked lasagna is layered not tossed in with a 1/2 full bowl of sauce. No mozzarella on top as the employee stated there was.
Another item to not was the roll that comes with the soup / or salad. Another employee who got that part of the order together asked if we wanted a warm roll, yes please! He grabbed a roll out of the warmer where they are typically warmed to perfection and squeezed the roll and it appeared hard. He then grabbed a different roll from a tub full of rolls on the bottom shelf of a stainless steel work table. Warmed it in the microwave and brought it to the table. Roll had a tough crust to it as you get from only warming breads in a microwave. I will not be back to try this another time. Perhaps you could get some recipe help from Romas in Bellevue, where the food is great. Chicken parm...
