Valentino's — Restaurant in Omaha

8/27/2014 My favorite pizza and lasagna. Valentino's rocks. For 60 years, I've been going to Valentino's, and I have loved it for as long as I can remember. When there was only the original in Lincoln, we used to drive there from Omaha, wait an hour or better so we could have one of their pies. Yummy! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 6/23/2020 Updated post now 3 Star The food is still great and the staff was OK, but they were new and I didn't know them or them me. The old staff knew me, and I value that. This rant has to do with their "New, Cheap Phone System" per the cashier's description. I had a meeting in the neighborhood at 7 PM and needed to eat because I was hungry, and my blood sugar was getting too low before the meeting. I had planned according to my meeting time when to call, but when I called the store, before I left the house, their automated system hung up on me. No big deal, I’ll call them from the car. When I did, the phone system hung up on me again. By this time, I’m getting concerned because I had been planning on a nice Valentino’s pizza all afternoon but was running out of time. So, I called the Giles Street store to see if they could offer words of wisdom. They said that their, “… phone system goes off the rails once in a while for 10 – 15 minutes but would call the Leavenworth Store for me.""” When they came back, they said they got through and to try again. I did and got my order in, but by this time, my schedule is in jeopardy. When I got to the store naturally the pizza is not ready. I began a conversation with the cashier about the phone difficulties and she told me that the owner installed a new cheaper version of the phone system and that it malfunctions on occasion, she also said this has been going on for a couple of months. I asked to talk to someone who was responsible for their phones. At this point, she brings out a young man and says I should talk to him. Turns out this is his second day on the job, so I’m a bit puzzled and asked for Brian. This is when I find out Brian’s been fired. Unbelievable, Brian was great and always took care of me. The new manager did give me my pizza for free but even after several attempts to get the owner’s contact info, I never did get it and since I’m pushing the limits to get to my meeting on time I left. Minus one star 🌟 for the “New Cheap Phone System” Minus one star 🌟 for an unfamiliar crew. I don't generally give out 5 stars to places that I don't know the staff. Once I get comfortable with a place and if I go back over and over because of the staff, they get the 5. 3/9/2022 Things are going well again for me and Val's. Plus, one star. 🌟 5/25/2022 Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays we can get a jumbo pizza 🍕 for close to the price of a small 🍕. I love Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Left overs are great. 8/2/2022 Stopped in for the Jumbo pizza special. Called in my order from home, and by the time I got there and paid for my pie, the pizza was ready to eat. Went to the Valentino's on 102nd and Maple. It was a horrible experience. We went for lunch at noon. So many bad things happened while we were eating, let's see... Where to begin? All the food that was on the buffet was cold and old. I was walking around trying to chose from the lil amount of food that was offered in the buffet when one of the workers (Baily)was trying to put new lasagna up, she was interupted by a co-worker who says what are you doing, Baily says I'm putting new up because this looks old, the co-worker told her there's still 3 pieces left to eat don't do that I said yeah that looks pretty bad you should change it, then the co-worker said ok go ahead. Talk about rediculous. Then I asked for them to fill the foods that were empty, Wich was most of the buffet. In the time that we were there, they added a couple of things, but hardly any. So then I was talking to one of the workers, and they say well I wouldn't eat out of the taco bar either because it had been sitting up there since this morning, and she thought it was probably left overs from the night b4, I am just discusted, paid for 4 adults to eat, which is not cheap there. We expected to get warm food, not food that had been sitting there since the night previous. We will never go back to this Valentino's, they went down...

I’m going to be honest here. So I’m working a double today and haven’t ate all day. I haven’t had Valentino’s in maybe 15yrs or more. So I said hey why not. The 4 cheese pizza sounded good and so did some wings. My food didn’t get to me until an hour and a half later… food itself, well… I think you’re charging too much for your pizza… it was already cold when it reached me and the cheese was firm but at least it had a decent flavor… as for the wings… I wasn’t expecting them breaded or I just wasn’t listening well enough while placing my order. However, they were just not good but they were at least some what warm the breading ruined it for me the flavor it gave the wings was just not good. I ate them because I paid for them and I literally have not ate in over 24hrs (I’m not joking). I’m sorry, but today I was reminded why I haven’t been there in...
