The food looks good, but that's all. The level of service I received was absolutely horrendous and the quality of the food was subpar. Actually, it was awful.
For starters, after being seated with menus, no one came to my table to take my drink or food orders for over 10 minutes. Eventually, I flagged down a server and asked if I could place my order. She informed me that according to her software our table had already been helped, and that's why she didn't wait on us. Really? So, if I never spoke up we wouldn't have gotten service at all. We placed our orders and I asked for a round of water for the table. The water didn't arrive for some time and I could see my server chit chatting at the bar. Turns out she was waiting for the bartender to finish his other tickets and get to us. Then, ten minutes later, when he made our margarita she brought the waters with it . So here we are twenty minutes at the table with no drinks, no napkins or cutlery. By the way, not once were our waters refilled.
For an appetizer I tried the bone marrow tacos. The bone marrow itself was nonexistent. There was a tiny sliver of bone marrow covered by a spoonful of dry carne asada. For $18 I expected more than a giant pile of cilantro and white onions. After eating the "tacos" I set the bones on the edge of the table to be cleared along with the empty margarita glass. Server after server walked by my table and not one of them took 2 seconds to remove the dirty plates from my table. After a while, 2 of my 3 main courses arrived (why not all 3?) and I asked to have the dishes removed when my server started to walk away without clearing them.
With 3 people in my party including myself, we sat there and waited for the 3rd entrée to come out so everyone could eat together. . . and waited and waited and waited. As our food got cold I finally said this is ridiculous and once again flagged down my server and asked where our third dish was. She said she'd check on it and after a while it finally arrived at the table. The pork shank lacked flavor and the accompanying beans were watery. The grilled octopus was properly cooked but it just wasn't good.
The service was appalling and the food was worse. My server never returned to the table to check up on us. One of my guests spent a portion of the meal vomiting in the restroom after eating the octopus and the braised pork shank. Surprisingly, the sushi was the best thing we had at this Mexican restaurant, although that's not saying much since no one finished their meals or took home any leftovers. We sat there with the dirty plates for 10 minutes waiting for the $100 check.
Do yourself a favor and skip Compadres Cantina altogether.

Read moreI just got back from having Mother’s Day lunch with my mom and it was really disappointing. I had made reservations two weeks ago before Mother’s Day. We showed up on time, they sat us a a decent table but we had folding chairs (there was 4 us). At first service was good. Waitress at this time was actually on top of everything. Then after we had our appetizers she disappeared. I had to ask the bus boy to get us our waitress so I could order more mimosas. Which still took 10 mins to get her to get to our table. Then my parents and my boyfriend got their food while I had to wait 20 mins after they got their food to get my food which by that time I didn’t want it anymore because everyone was done. So when it finally came my mom told our waitress we didn’t want the food after since everyone was done and let me just tell you our waitress had so much attitude about it. Instead of going understanding why we didn’t want it she just threw a dirty look and took the food back. Then it took another 20 mins for her to finally get us our bill. Literally the whole place had people waiting for someone to serve them at every table. And right next to our table they still thought it would be a brilliant idea to but up a table that you put up for a backyard party with folding chairs knowing that they’re over packed with customers. The manager was busy taking social media videos rather than realizing how overwhelmed and unattended the customers were. I get it it’s Mother’s Day but you should be prepared better and not worry about how it looks on social media or how much revenue you’re going to make because now I know to not go back there again due to poor quality of service. Customers...
Read moreWe went here for my sister’s birthday and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was really chill and we took our time drinking drinks, eating our food, talking, and laughing. Their Happy Hour hours are pretty good but the prices for the HH drinks were a little more than I expected. However, the drinks were very good and strong.
The food was delicious! We started with chips and guac and lemme tell you…. Probably one if not the best guacamole I’ve had at a restaurant ever. I ordered a quesadilla with birria and consume which was delicious (I only saw birria tacos in the menu but Elizabeth helped me build my own quesadilla). The rest of the party got sushi (buy two for the price of one!), a burrito, and tacos (honestly not really sure with one of the dishes, but she liked it)?
Now onto the service… Elizabeth is a gem. She was very patient when we asked her a lot of questions about the menu and we were very indecisive. By we, I primarily mean me. I was probably being annoying, but she was so sweet and kept a smile on her face. She was very attentive and helpful. Hopefully she will serve us again next time :)
Last but not least, we informed Elizabeth that it was my sister’s birthday and they came out with a big birthday sign, bell, sparkler, churros with ice cream, AND a shot. Idk about you, but that’s a really good birthday “gift” from any restaurant especially from a small business. The churros were bomb too (we made the birthday girl share esp because she ordered several drinks and wasn’t paying lol).
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant! Great service, atmosphere, food, clean...
