Mar Y Tierra — Restaurant in Ontario

My family and I have been coming here for years, but today's visit makes it uncertain if we will come back. Overall, unfriendly/terrible service and one dish that tasted old and rotten. The table we were sat at was next to the trash and smelled terrible, we asked to be moved and the staff seemed upset about this. We asked for a bigger table because we were 8 but they also didn't seem eager to accommodate that. We move past that, and everything seems fine. Except it takes 30 minutes for food to come out and some dishes were cold, but the worst was when my dish of langostinos tasted and smelled old/rotten. I had to return it. We finish eating, ask for the check, and it takes them 15+ minutes to get it to us. My boyfriend gives his card and the waitress returns with it except she won't hand him his card until he signs - it was incredibly insulting to say the least. I had NEVER been to a place where the waitress stands in front of you while write the tip and sign and holds your card hostage until you do so. We had no intention of not signing but her attitude, the poor service, and terrible smells from both trash and food really dissuade us from ever coming back. Not sure what's going on, but the owner should take closer care of the restaurant...

Their food is excellent! We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Recently I have noticed on my ticket the charge of 2 extra beers we did not consumed, I thought it was just an honest mistake, Next time we were there again I noticed an error in my ticket! At this point I was a little annoyed, I asked the waitress to remove the extra charge, she apologized and deducted it. Today we were there again having some sea food and at the time to pay our ticket I noticed again the same mistake! More beers than consumed were charged! Enough! This was the last time we come to this place! I will miss their food, but not...

PEOPLE BE AWARE!!! As others noted the flies here are out of control and there is a reason... I have a relative that worked here , my relative says that they dont have a dishwasher, and because they are very busy the manager tells the busboys to only rinse dishes, not wash them. That is so disgusting this is negligence. If they dont wash stuff properly they could contaminate people with all kinds of infections, tuberculosis ..E coli.. Hepatitis etc.. By the way all those flies before making there way to your table sit on all the rotting trash in the back before making their way to sit...
