Stater Bros. Markets — Local services in Ontario

Usually my feedback is on a positive note. This time is different. A bit of background, a couple weeks ago my son (4th grader) had a career day at his school, When I picked him up that day he was so exited to tell me all bout Stater Brothers history and how Store manager Maria went in and told the class all about her role at our local Stater Brothers (Store#108) She brought the class an awesome string backpack pack with their logo apple, and a gift card! She was very kind he said and even invited the students to stop by and say hello, Well we did I took my son after school yesterday along with his new baby twin brothers to say hello and get something with his gift card, As we were there I decided to get some quick dinner, a family fried chicken meal from the deli. I waited for the associate to acknowledge me as she had her back turned making yogurt parfaits, she turned and asked for a couple minutes. I was ok with that I responded " Ok thank you" ( I did not get a chance to get her name) Well she came over and assisted me. I asked for the 8 piece chicken , there were a couple pieces left, not fresh as expected, the last of that batch. Luckily another associate "Angela" came out with a fresh batch and was re stocking the tray right next to us, I asked if I could please get some chicken from the fresh batch she was placing, She looked at me and said " ITS THE SAME CHICKEN AS THAT ONE" I said I would rather purchase the fresh chicken for my family. Both ignored me and continued packing. As I'm standing there waiting for my meal they BOTH just left and walked to the bac kitchen, literally leaving us standing there without a word. I turned around and I saw a cashier walking our way, I stopped her and asked if she can do me a favor and go to the back and ask the ladies If they were able to assist me with my chicken, I was so confused. Well cashier went to the back and asked and Angela came out and when I tell you she looked to MAD/Bothered , I cant begin to explain. Her first words were, " IALREADY TOLD YIU ITS THE SAME DAMN CHICKEN" I looked at her shocked with my son right next to me. I said I asked for the fresh chicken you just brought out, She responded "WE ALREADY BXED YOUR CHICKEN! ITS THE SAME THING" I then responded , I'm sorry if you already boxed it but i informed you when you were placing the new one in and I was ignored, She responded again "ITS THE SAME THING

Ok. I've been shopping at this location for a good while now, as there are a few other businesses in this same shopping center; besides Stater Bro's; that I also like to visit, especially the ACE Money Store & Miss 🍩 Donut! 👍 While I've previously said that, I like to stop by this Stater's on my way home 2 or 3 times a week, for a quick bite, maybe a few needed staple items. Mainly, I do it bc it's usually a quick in & out with hardly any lines to wait in! Although recently? I guess a few people must have read my review bc lately.., there has been more of a wait.., 😏 But again, after 10P I guess its kind of to be expected since we all get the munchies now & then, or suddenly remember we forgot to buy the milk or something else?! 🙄

Other than that? Hmm, 🤔 if I had my preference, I guess I'd have to ask the Bakery, "What's up w/all the hikes in prices & the drops in Quality?!" 🤨 I mean, let's get real. The last clam shell of peanut butter cookies I got, were almost raw and the last Chocolate Cream Pie I bought was, well.., not the most appetizing, bc the filling had the texture & consistency of a chocolate flavored pumpkin pie! Not the typical creamy chocolate pudding that it should have?! Mind u.., I still ate it bc.., well, that's why I bought it but, to be totally honest? I don't think I'll buy any more of those, anytime soon!

Which brings me to the subject of ur Carrot Cake slices.., What is up w/them being almost $2 Dolla mo', than any of the other slices?! If u are buying most of them frozen anyway, why should they be priced higher than the rest?? 🧐 It's not like they are that much better than the other ones that u're selling? And.., if this is going to continue? I would add that Vons sells a much better tasting piece of carrot cake than that & it's bigger & priced less than ur's! Word up, yo!! I'm just saying! Bc maybe, y'all can pick up the slack in the bakery, if u want my FIVE STAR recommendation! No...

Yesterday, I went to Stater Bros for my groceries. Recently, I moved over here to Ontario. This Stater Bros is close to me. I started at the produce side. I was not impressed with the fruits in the bags. They were old and dried up. I even saw the produce person walking around the fruits and looking around. These fruits were very old. I used to go to the Stater Bros on Grand Ave. in Glendora and never saw old fruits in bags. These bag fruits are not cheap either.

I have gone up to the Stater Bros on Mountain in Upland. The fruits, veggies are nice and have more deli selections to pick from.

My honey was in the package deli area. There isn't a large selection of meats to pick from.

I am going to go to the Upland Stater Bros or Ralph's in Rancho Cucamonga. They have better selections of fruits, veggies and deli meats.

I am not going to waste money on old dried up fruits. Groceries are very expensive. If the produce manager doesn't care about the presentation, I am looking after my budget too.

Otherwise, look at the items before you buy them here at this Stater Bros.
