Taqueria Tamazulena is a shining example of the abundance of exceptional Mexican eateries in a fiercely competitive landscape. Their menu, though straightforward, delivers a punch of authentic flavors through tacos, burritos, tortas and sopes.
Opting for the carnitas tacos was a wise choice, as these street-sized delights were not only tender but packed with captivating flavors. They effortlessly earn a spot among the top 20 tacos I've encountered, possibly even in the teens for sheer quality.
However, it was the lengua (tongue) tacos that truly stole the show, surpassing expectations. The rich, succulent taste and texture elevate them to a higher culinary tier.
Turning to the carne asada burrito, the freshness of the tortilla was evident, though it wasn't locally made. While the beans were decent, they didn't command particular acclaim. Nevertheless, the use of tender quality marinaded beef made this burrito a satisfying and filling choice @9.99.
For four meals, the bill tallied up to a reasonable $49, averaging at about $12.50 per personāa budget-friendly exploration of the menu's diverse offerings. Although I missed out on the sopes, the decision was likely influenced by the sheer volume of delectable food already enjoyed.
House-made hot sauces provided the finishing touch, enhancing every dish. While the red sauce shines, it's the exquisite flavors of the two green sauces that truly captivate the palate, adding an extra layer of culinary delight to the experience.
In summary, Taqueria Tamazulena stands as a testament to the Mexican culinary excellence that can be discovered in a crowded field. From remarkable carnitas and lengua tacos to satisfying carne asada burritos, it offers a delightful journey through Mexican flavors. The house-made hot sauces elevate each dish, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts of authentic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had high expectations for this restaurant and l was very disappointed. The food was not the best and what l ordered was made incorrectly. I asked for al pastor tacos (and sopes) and for some reason all tacos and sopes were made with carne asada (aside from the one tripas taco that l ordered). They had a lot of fat (which was very gross) and the taste was absolutely terrible. I also requested that they not be made with salsa. Still, they filled my tacos with salsa. I, specifically, asked that the salsa be put on the side since l was skeptical about it being too spicy or not to my liking. They failed to follow my instructions they added red salsa (which l have never liked) to all of my food when I clearly asked them not to. I also paid for my extra green salsa in hopes to add it to my tacos which ended up going to waste. They charge 25 cents per salsa (something to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family has been coming here since I was a baby back in 2003 and I can confidently say that the recipe has not changed in all of those years.
Even though I donāt live in the upland/ontario area anymore I love coming here every chance I get.
The prices were raised a little bit over the past few years but the tacos de carne asada are bomb AF that I donāt really mind that much. The horchata too is so good!
Itās very nostalgic seeing that the decorations inside have also not been changed. The original staff, however, may have changed over the years but each one Iāve met has always been so kind.
I havenāt had any complaints yet and I hope I never will cause the day something changes, it will be a disappointment to the ENTIRE community.
Honestamente nos...
