Artist at your own risk ⚠️
I give one star to this gallery in under to be able to let those trying to make business in this place to be aware. I should have read the previous review to avoid wasting my time and money going there. Yes, they are a mess. The approval message I got to exhibit my art at their gallery had the wrong dates regarding the drop off, it also had the wrong day regarding the length of the exhibition. I do have to say they did work with my in accommodating another time for the drop off since I would be out of time the designated days.
The miserable sad of this story comes now. There I go to drop my art, 4 pieces, 3 with wine corks and 1 steampunk. I am received by Mia and from the zero moment I could feel a bad vibe. When she saw my art she asked me: do you sell this? And then I replied very politely. She then proposed me to be a vendor at the market event that they hold the third Saturday of the month. Good it is to say that I had to hold my patient to avoid getting down the level of this “senorita”.
I showed her the postcards of my art I brought to show Dene, the person I talked to and this opinionated person, Mia, opened her big mouth again to tell me my envelopes are too big and gave me an excuse, valid, not to exhibit my postcards.
The minimum I can say about this place is they are disrespectful, engreídos, arrogantes, and I feel sorry for the community they are serving. With this actitud they depriving them to have access to artist with different perspectives, styles and vision.
Neither I have to say, I got in my car, drove for 5 minutes made a U turn and picked up my art. And I felt at peace ✌🏽.
Last but not least, the day before I asked Dene if they had marketing material to promote the exhibition on social media: just the reels we have in our Instagram page, she said. Oh god and then when I arrive to the gallery the tal Mía gave me a bunch of printed flyers to promote the exhibition. Tienes o no tienes? The lack of coordination is sooooo big. I hope you guys improve your customer service skills and attention to details. And Dene this is for you. This happened a couple of hours ago, I thought that at minimum you will reach out to me. Your unprofessionalism speaks volumes about who you are, speaks of you and your staff. It was a not pleasure doing business with you. Se te quiso amor.
And in response to your reply “mijita”. Thanks for letting me know what you think about my art by calling it “craft”. Believe me that you rather have me answering you online that not in your face. You don’t deserve it. I am writing here to alert future artists not to hear your opinion. As I said “mijita”: it was not a pleasure trying to do...
Read moreI have been to two shows, had some friends and family take part in displaying their art. Each and everyone of them had a terrible experience. They promote certain mainstream artist that have more of a following and of course that’s tends to their biases. Artist’s individuality is very much stripped a way from here and it’s very sad to see and very unprofessional. Mia and Dena or whatever her name is, are very much intoxicated, no communication skills, very ignorant to other’s beliefs (so do not represent yourself in anyways with a flag unless is Amerikkkan). They also were prejudice towards our fellow Queer artist for having a pride flag for PRIDE MONTH! They also have a very sad comment on their IG of a woman explain how her YOUNG DAUGHTER’s art was taken down last minute at an event with no communication from the place because of religious differences. If you want a Backyard hangout with certain kinds of people that’s fine, but you’re open to the public and this is a free country to express...
Read moreI hung my art here a month ago and who ever was handling my art completely ruined two of my oil paintings. They either stacked them against each other or on top of each other with the wire rubbing up against the face of two of the paintings. I even showed pictures of before and afters and the owner told me to pull out an insurance claim pretty much acting like they are not liable for them damaging my pieces. Not even playing please be aware of this gallery and I would warn you that they possibly will ruin your creations. Absolutely unprofessional I will do whatever I have to do in my power to make sure this gallery is well known in the la area about how lame the ownership is and how they handle business. It’s funny I’m well connected in the art scene and know to many established artists yall screwed the...
